Sphynx Cowl 5-60O is a right-spin balance type combination, released with the BX-27 Random Booster Sphynx Cowl Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on February 22nd, 2024.
This Beyblade features Sphynx Cowl, a right-spin defense type Blade introduced with this Random Booster. This stock combination comes with the 5-60 Ratchet and Orb Bit. Out of the three combinations from the Random Booster Sphynx Cowl Select, this one is probably the most coherent and efficient.
The result is a docile, stationary stamina/defense type combination.
Sphynx Cowl is a right-spin Blade featuring an overall circular shape with a rugged design. This Blade has 9 main contact points along its perimeter, resulting in the rugged design of this Blade. These contact points are part of a gimmick, the “Barrage Blades”, designed to align with the 9 protrusions of the 9-80 Ratchet.
There are 5 contact points on one side of the Blade, and 4 on the other half, creating an unbalanced weight distribution. This lack of balance results in a relatively poor stamina potential, with a tendency to wobble and tilt over early in battle, especially when combined to pointy Bits such as Needle, High Needle, Spike or Gear Needle.
See the complete article on Sphynx Cowl here.
5-60 (or Five Sixty) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation. This Ratchet features five wide “blades” along its perimeter, and it is 6 mm tall.
Its overall design and its low height make it a popular choice in stationary combinations, using Bits such as Needle, High Needle, Spike or Orb.
See the complete article on 5-60 here.
Orb (or O) is a stamina type Bit. It is the “High” variant of Taper, being 1 mm taller than its predecessor.
“O” features a small ball-shaped plastic tip, similar to Ball (B). Compared to Ball, “O” has a smaller diameter, resulting in a smaller contact surface between the Bit and the stadium floor. The smaller contact surface creates less mobility, making combinations using “O” stationary in the center area of the stadium, similarly to Needle or High Needle. When hard launched, a combination using “O” will typically move in small circles before remaining stationary.
See the complete article on Orb here.
This stock combination actually makes good use of the Sphynx Cowl Blade, since 5-60 and Orb will provide some much needed balance and stability to the combination. 9-60 can be a decent alternative to 5-60, but the combination behavior will be slightly more erratic. Furthermore, players can replace Orb with Ball, Gear Ball, or Gear Point.
Additionally, Bits such as Needle, Gear Needle, High Needle or Spike are obvious defense type alternatives, but the Blade’s lack of balance results in poor stamina potential with such options.
This stock combination features decent Xtreme Gear Sports Parts, including the Orb Bit, which is only available in the Random Booster Viper Tail Select (at the time of writing).
Therefore, Sphynx Cowl 5-60O is not a must have in a Beyblade X collection. However, it can be a decent addition for players looking for the Sphynx Cowl Blade and Orb Bit.

Sphynx Cowl 4-80HT is a right-spin balance type combination, released with the BX-27 Random Booster Sphynx Cowl Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on February 22nd, 2024.
This Beyblade features Sphynx Cowl, a right-spin defense type Blade introduced with this Random Booster. This stock combination comes with the 4-80 Ratchet and High Taper Bit. This combo displays Sphynx Cowl attack/counter attack potential, although it cannot be considered as very coherent.
The result is a fairly mobile combination, featuring a Blade with 9 contact points designed to be used in stamina/defense type combinations.

See the complete article on Sphynx Cowl here.
4-80 (or Four Eighty) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation. This Ratchet features four “blades” along its perimeter, and it is 8 mm tall. Its taller height makes it easier to strike from below, increasing burst risk. Therefore, it usually is a preferred option in attack type combinations.
See the complete article on 4-80 here.
High Taper (or HT) is a balance type Bit. It is the “High” variant of Taper, being 1 mm taller than its predecessor.
Like Taper, “HT” features a narrow circular flat tip with a shallow indentation. The tip angles upwards from the centre, creating a second contact point. This design creates enough mobility to hit the X-Line, while retaining a decent amount of stamina compared to traditional attack type Bits.
See the complete article on High Taper here.
Players willing to keep the balance type identity of this stock combo can replace 4-80 with 9-60 or 5-60. This will lower the combination height and mitigate burst risk. Furthermore, players can replace High Taper with stable stamina/balance type Bits such as Ball, Gear Ball, Orb or Gear Point.
Additionally, Bits such as Needle, High Needle or Spike are obvious defense type alternatives, but the Blade’s lack of balance results in poor stamina potential with such options.
This stock combination features decent Xtreme Gear Sports Parts, including the High Taper Bit, which is only available in the Hells Chain Deck Set (at the time of writing).
Therefore, Sphynx Cowl 4-80HT is not a must have in a Beyblade X collection. However, it can be a decent addition for players looking for the Sphynx Cowl Blade and High Taper.

First released in the BX-27 Random Booster Sphynx Cowl Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on February 22nd, 2024, Gear Needle (or GN) is a defense type Bit. It is the “Gear” variant of Needle. A “Gear” variant means that the Bit features extended Gears, making it easier for the combination to ride the X-Line.
Gear Needle is a pointy Bit, featuring a conical shape and a sharp tip, albeit not as sharp as its predecessors Needle and High Needle. The shape of the tip results in a docile, controllable stationary behavior. When launched hard, a GN combination will move in small circles inside the center area of the stadium before steadying itself.
It is also worth noting that GN has a lower height than Needle and High Needle, making the combination 0,5mm to 1,5mm lower.
In terms of defense potential, the low friction of the tip creates poor knock-out resistance. Even though GN tip is not as sharp as its predecessors, a GN combination is still fairly easy to destabilize and knock-out.
Additionally, the stationary behavior of this Bit can be very safe, remaining steady in the center of the stadium, thus evading attacks from the opponent. On the other hand, the stationary behavior can also make the combination an easy target for Xtreme Dash attacks.
It i also worth noting that when repelled against the X-Line, a GN combination will ride it easily due to the extended gears, creating an Xtreme-Dash and losing stamina in the process. However, the extended Gears also create a circular “guard” above the tip, which creates decent LAD.
“GN” can be used with any type of Blades, including attack oriented Blades such as Dran Sword, Shark Edge, or Dran Dagger etc.
Intended to be a defense type Bit because of its controllable behavior, Gear Needle features decent stamina potential. However, its innate weaknesses make it a riskier option than Ball. This Bit is the lowest variant of Needle, and the extended gears create decent LAD potential.
Therefore, Gear Needle is a strong addition in any Beyblade X collection.

First released in the BX-27 Random Booster Sphynx Cowl Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on February 22nd, 2024, 9-80 (or Nine Eighty) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
The number “9” refers to the number of blades along the Ratchet’s perimeter, which means that 9-80 has 9 blades. In Beyblade X, Ratchets protrusions/blades are acting as weak points for burst attacks, therefore players have to make sure the blades of the ratchet are not too exposed. On 9-80, out of the 9 blades, 6 are barely protruding from the Ratchet, increasing burst-resistance.
Furthermore, the three larger blades on 9-80 can be aligned with Phoenix Wing contact points, which can increase attack potential. More specifically, all three Launcher Hooks are protruding on the Blade perimeter, creating an additional contact point on each wing. 9-80 blades can be lined up with these three additional contact points.
It is worth noting that the three blades on 9-80 perimeter line up differently depending on how the Ratchet is positioned. Therefore, it is recommended to check the alignement of 9-80 blades and these contact points when assembling the combination.
Additionally, these three larger blades on 9-80 are small compared to the blades of 3-80 : approximately 4mm for 9-60 blades, while 3-60 blades are 7mm. With only three blades featuring a limited contact surface, burst-resistance is further increased. This makes 9-80 safer than both 3-80 and 4-80 Ratchets.
The number “80” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 8 mm. 9-80 features a stronger lock than 9-60, but its height makes it easier to strike from below. In spite of their stronger lock, “80” Ratchets tend to burst more often than “60” variants.
Therefore, “80” Ratchets are usually used with attack/balance type Bits, featuring a wider shaft and increased burst-resistance.
9-80 is a versatile Ratchet, which can be used in any type of combinations. With only 3 small blades (barely 4mm wide) this Ratchet highly mitigates burst risk, making it safer than 3-80 and 4-80.

There are 5 contact points on one side of the Blade, and 4 on the other half, creating an unbalanced weight distribution. This lack of balance results in a relatively poor stamina potential, with a tendency to wobble and tilt over for extended periods of time, especially when combined to pointy Bits such as Needle, High Needle, Spike or Gear Needle.
Therefore, this Blade tends to create a hard to control, erratic behavior when used in stationary combinations.
Similarly to the Rhino Horn Blade, Sphynx Cowl is not designed to mitigate opposing Beyblade’s attacks. Most of the time, this Blade will repel or be repelled when struck by the opponent’s combo. It can inflict powerful attacks/counter-attacks, although it cannot do so with consistency. While this Blade is advertised as a defense type, it cannot handle the recoil and attack power of some of the best Blades available.
Therefore, a Sphynx Cowl combination will have inconsistent and random results, while creating chaotic and spectacular battles. Thus, Over Finish, Xtreme Finish and Burst Finish will be a common occurrence when using this Blade.
Sphynx Cowl is too risky and unreliable to be recommended to competitive players. However, collectors may enjoy the spectacular battles this Blade can create.

Avoid counterfeits ! The authentic Sphynx Cowl 9-80GN by Takara Tomy is on Beyblade Toys
Released with the BX-27 Random Booster Sphynx Cowl Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on February 22nd, 2024, Sphynx Cowl 9-80GN is a right-spin defense type combination.
This Beyblade is intended to be defense oriented, remaining steady in the center area of the stadium. In reality, the Gear Needle Bit creates a stationary behavior, but the unbalanced weight distribution of the Sphynx Cowl can result in erratic movements, especially when hard launched.
Furthermore, this Blade does not mitigate opposing Beyblade attacks, its rugged design resulting in high recoil. Additionally, the fairly tall 9-80 Ratchet makes the combination easier to strike from below. Therefore, this stock combo is easy to destabilize, and is prone to Burst Finishes.
In spite of its stationary behavior, the Blade can create powerful attacks/counter attacks, resulting in many multiple points finishes : Over Finish, Xtreme Finish, Burst Finish. Unfortunately, this Beyblade also suffers from its own recoil, meaning it also has a high risk of being knocked-out in the Over and Xtreme Zones. Combined with its high burst risk, this stock combo performances are very inconsistent.
The recoil of the Blade creates chaotic battles, resulting in a feeling of randomness.
This stock combination may be improved by replacing the 9-80 Ratchet. The “80” height (8 mm) makes the combination easier to strike from below, increasing burst risk. Replacing 9-80 with 5-60 will not only lower the combination height ; it will also help to mitigate the unbalanced weight distribution of the Sphynx Cowl Blade.
The Blade lack of balance makes the use of pointy Bits such as Needle, Gear Needle, High Needle, and Spike risky, since the combination will be easy to destabilize.
Therefore, players may want to experiment with Bits such as Orb, Ball, Gear Ball or Gear Point instead to increase the contact surface and make the combination more stable.
Gear Needle can be used in balanced stationary combinations, with its extended Gearscreating decent LAD potential.
The 9-80 Ratchet can be used in attack oriented combinations, with attack type or balance type Bits featuring a wider shaft, resulting in increased burst resistance.
This stock combination features three new Parts, offering players new options and alternatives.
While the Sphynx Cowl Blade has inconsistent performances, it guarantees spectacular battles. Furthermore, the 9-80 Ratchet and Gear Needle Bit are worth experimenting with.
Therefore, Sphynx Cowl 9-80 is not necessarily a must have for competitive players. However, it can be a nice addition for collectors.

First released with the B-00 Booster Astral Hello Kitty Over Revolve’-0 as part of the Burst Ultimate system on September 17th, 2022, Revolve’ is a stamina type Performance Tip. It is the “Dash” version of the Revolve Performance Tip. The “Dash” version of a driver has a stronger spring, increasing burst resistance significantly.
This Driver features a small, sharp plastic tip surrounded by a free-spinning disc. The sharp tip creates low friction, resulting in high stamina potential and increased burst resistance. The free-spinning ring prevents the combination from being destabilized, increasing defense potential.
Furthermore, the free-spinning nature of the disc adds LAD (Life-After-Death), making this Performance Tip a nice option in opposite-spin battles.
Overall, Revolve’ is outclassed by Performance Tips such as Bearing and Eternal, as well as other options released later in the Beyblade Burst generation, such as Bearing Drift, Drift etc.
However, it remains a decent stamina type Performance Tip in a non competitive environment.
Revolve’ is a good stamina type Performance Tip, featuring good stamina potential as well as decent defense and LAD potential.
While aforementioned stamina drivers such as Drift, Bearing’ etc. have outclassed Revolve, it is still a great driver for players who are not focused on competitive play, or players who are collecting Beyblades from earlier systems.
Therefore, Revolve’ is not a must have for competitive players, but it remains a nice addition in any Beyblade Burst collection.

Astral Hello Kitty Over Revolve’-0 is a dual-spin stamina type combination, released as a Booster as part of the Burst Ultimate system on September 17th, 2022.
This Beyblade comes with decent components, such as the Astral Blade and the highly competitive Over Forge Disc and “0” Armor. Furthermore, the Over Forge Disc comes with a gold colored coat of paint, slightly increasing its weight.
This Booster also introduced the Revolve’ Performance Tip, which allows the combination to behave like a traditional stamina type Beyblade.
This stock combination can have decent results when used against other non-optimized combos, due to its good stamina potential. Moreover, this Beyblade is dual-spin, allowing it to counter opposing Beyblades by switching spin-direction.
Astral is a dual-spin Blade featuring a four blades design. This Blade has high stamina and decent spin-equalizing potential, especially in left-spin mode.
See the complete article on the Astral Blade here.
Hello Kitty is a dual-spin DB Core, it can be used in right-spin and left-spin combinations. Hello Kitty is always sold with the tool required to change spin direction.
This DB Core has average burst resistance and stamina potential, making it outclassed by the Achilles and Spriggan 2 DB cores, both being dual-spin as well.
See the complete article on the Hello Kitty DB Core here.
Over is a Forge Disc featuring a perfectly round shape and a smooth perimeter. It is also one of the heaviest Forge Discs in the Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate systems.
Due do its circular shape, Over has great OWD (Outward Weight Distribution), which is a great attribute for stamina performance.
See the complete article on Over here.
Revolve’ is a stamina type Performance Tip. It features a small, sharp plastic tip surrounded by a free-spinning disc.
The sharp tip creates low friction, resulting in high stamina potential and increased burst resistance. The free-spinning ring prevents the combination from being destabilized, increasing defense potential.
Revolve’ is a decent stamina type Driver. However, it is outclassed by Performance Tips such as Bearing and Eternal, as well as other options released later in the Beyblade Burst generation, such as Bearing Drift, Drift, High Xtend+’, etc…
See the complete article on Revolve’ here.
The “0” Armor weight is evenly distributed all over the armor, making it extremely well balanced. This very balanced weight distribution makes “0” highly versatile, but it will be ideal for defense and stamina type combinations.
See the complete article on the “0” Armor here.
In a non-competitive environment, this combination doesn’t need to be improved, it is a decent a stock combo.
However, players willing to improve its performances while preserving the Astral Hello Kitty Layer can replace Revolve’ with a better Performance Tip, such as High Xtend+’. Drift and Bearing Drift can be used as well, but it will make the combination competitive, creating a risk of breaking the game’s balance. A good copy of High Hold’ can be a decent, enjoyable option in a friendly environment.
While outclassed by the Burst Blade, Astral remains a strong Blade that can be used in tournaments. Furthermore, the “0” Armor is one of the best Armors available, perfect for stamina combos, and versatile enough to be used in attack and defense type combinations.
Due to its design, Astral is better in left-spin mode, featuring increased spin-equalization potential. Therefore, strong left-spin DB Cores such as Longinus or Bahamut would be the preferred options.
Then, the gold colored Over Forge Disc featured in this Beyblade is also a highly competitive option.
Drivers such as Drift, Bearing Drift, or High Xtend+’ and Bearing’ are all competitive Performance Tips. Additionally, if Bahamut is preferred to Longinus, then Metal Drift can be used safely as well.
Therefore, an example of competitive combination based on Astral Hello Kitty model can be : Astral Bahamut Over Bearing Metal Drift-0.
Astral Hello Kitty Revolve’-0 is a decent stock combination featuring several good components, such as Astral Blade, Over Forge Disc and “0” Armor. The added coat of paint increases the Over Disc weight, making it a great addition for collectors.
Furthermore, this Booster is the only opportunity to obtain the Hello Kitty DB Core and the Revolve’ Performance Tip.
Therefore, this Beyblade can be a nice addition for competitive players, as well a great model for collectors.
