Description of Charge

First released with Rhino Reaper C4-55D in the CX-05 Random Booster Vol.6 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line on April 26th, 2025, Charge is an Assist Blade featuring a three-sided design.

Charge is entirely made of plastic, featuring a grand total of 6 secondary contact points to support the Main Blade.

Despite what looks to be a three-sided shape at first glance, in reality each section actually has two protrusions, acting as secondary contact points. Each section features a downward slanting contact point, as well as an upward slanting contact point. This creates a pattern of multi-directional attacks, now becoming fairly common in Beyblade X.

The intent is to destabilize the opposing Beyblade, by alternating smash attacks and upper attacks in quick succession. However, this design may create gap between the Assist Blade and the Main Blade. If struck, these gaps can create an increased destabilization risk, a key aspect in Beyblade X gameplay mechanics.

What really makes Charge unique is its small size, which comes with pros and cons. Its smaller diameter means that the secondary contact points are not protruding as much from the Main Blade.

Therefore, this Assist Blade may not have the direct impact and aggressiveness of other options such as Slash, while also resulting in a lighter weight. However, this smaller diameter also means that Charge won’t interfere as much during collisions, a characteristic that players may be interested in, depending on the Main Blade used.

In theory, smaller Assist Blades also tend to decrease Burst resistance by exposing the Ratchet a bit more.

At the time of writing, we enjoyed this Assist Blade when combined to Main Blades such as Brave and Dark. In our opinion, the combination Perseus (or any Lock Chip) Dark Charge 5-60 Kick actually has great synergy, proving to excel as an anti attack combo.

Final Thoughts

With few Main Blade options to choose from, it is too early to find a competitive use to Charge. Furthermore, its smaller diameter and lighter weight may only find niche use on the long term. However, we were both impressed by its synergy with Dark, albeit non competitive nonetheless.

Therefore, this Assist Blade may be an interesting addition for Custom Line collectors.
