Description of Free
First released with CX-10 Booster Wolf Hunt F0-60DB as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line on November 1st, 2025, Free is an Assist Blade.
The gimmick of free is a four sided free spinning plastic part, meant to create synergy with the Main Blade Hunt.
Free is not the heaviest Assist Blade available, but it has a decent weight nonetheless, similarly to Turn.
While the free spinning part of Free is officially described as a Stamina oriented component, it is outclassed by the heavy and thick Assist Blade Wheel. Moreover, its four sided shape creates poor to average L.A.D. when compare Wheel. However, it does have decent Defense potential, with a tendency to mitigate opposite Beyblades recoil.
This allows players to use Free in combinations that are slightly taller than the standard height, using 70 Ratchets for example. Increasing the height of the combo will make Free the primary contact point of the combination.
Furthermore, in some specific scenarios, using Free in taller combinations can make it easier to destabilize the opposite Beyblade.
Overall, Free may not be a top tier competitive component. However, it can create interesting synergy with Defense oriented Main Blades. The Balance type Main Blade Might can also have decent results when combined with Free in Stamina/Defense type combinations.
Final Thoughts
At the time of writing, Free is outclassed by Wheel and Heavy for competitive use. However, its gimmick creates decent Defense potential, making it a nice addition in any Beyblade X Custom Line collection.
