Description of Leon Crest
First released in the UX-06 Booster Leon Crest 7-60GN as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on August 10th, 2024, Leon Crest is a right-spin Defense type Blade.
Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
This Blade has an overall circular shape, featuring seven primary contact points on its metal part. What makes Leon Crest unique is the size of its plastic frame, creating secondary contact points. These additional contact points are perfectly aligned with the main contact points.
This design is meant to create high synergy with 7-60, which is intended to increase Defense potential.
In reality, since the metal part sits at the very top of the Blade, Leon Crest can be easily destabilized when struck on its primary contact points. However, the plastic frame can mitigate recoil, creating decent Defense potential. Therefore, this Blade can perform better in taller combinations. A taller combination will make opposing Beyblades strike the plastic frame, mitigating recoil as a result. Unfortunately, increasing the height will also decrease Burst Resistance.
Furthermore, Leon Crest lack of weight compared to other options makes it outclassed for competitive play. The lack of weight makes Leon Crest easier to knock-out, and its unique design makes it easier to destabilize.
Final Thoughts
Leon Crest has been one the first interesting Defense Blades, although its lack of weight creates poor to average Stamina and Defense potential. Its unique design, with its large plastic frame acting as secondary contact points, can make it a different, enjoyable option for Defense type players.
However, this Blade is heavily outclassed for competitive use.
