Description of 0-80 Ratchet
First released with Ghost Circle 0-80GB from the UX-12 Random Booster Vol. 5 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on December 28th, 2024, 0-80 (or Zero Eighty) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
In theory, 0-80 doesn’t have any protrusion, featuring a smooth circular shape. In reality however, three thin blades are protruding vertically, exposing the Ratchet to strikes coming from below.
To compensate for its perfectly smooth perimeter, 0 Ratchets are wider, making 0 the largest Ratchet available. As a result, in spite of the absence of protrusions, 0 Ratchets can create a lot of “Bit Releases”. A “Bit Release” happens when the Bit is separated from the combo, while the Ratchet is still locked in place. When a Bit Release occurs, it is registered as a Burst Finish.
0-70 and 0-80 are quite heavy, only outweighed by 7-70 and 7-80. This weight can be felt during Battle : 0-80 tends to add some stability and stamina to the combination. Unfortunately, its height and the resulting Burst risk make it difficult to use, even in a non competitive environment.
Additionally, 0 having a smooth perimeter, in theory it may have decent LAD (Life-After-Death). However, the three blades protruding below 0-80 decrease LAD potential, preventing 0 type Ratchets to outclass other options such as 5-60, 9-60 or 6-60.
0-80 Ratchet Height
The number “80” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 8 mm. 0-80 features a stronger lock than 0-60. However, in spite of their stronger lock, “80” Ratchets tend to have poor Burst Resistance, height being a key factor when it comes to Burst rate.
Therefore, at the time of writing, “80” Ratchets are not use in official Beyblade X tournaments. If players lack options, then 80 Ratchets perform better when combined with attack/balance type Bits, featuring a wider shaft and increased burst-resistance as result.
Players willing to experiment with 0-80 in Stamina and Defense type combinations may use the Bit Hexa, providing a defensive behavior, with decent stability and high stamina, as well as increased Burst resistance thanks to its widened shaft.
