Description of Shinobi Shadow

First released with Shinobi Shadow 1-80MN from the UX-05 Random Booster Shinobi Shadow Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on May 18th, 2024, Shinobi Shadow is a right-spin Defense type Blade.

Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.

Shinobi Shadow has a three-sided shape, with 3 smooth primary contact points featuring metal and plastic. The upper section of each contact point is made of metal, and the lower section is made of plastic. This design is intended to mitigate opposing Beyblade strikes and recoil, thus creating defense potential. The official description of this Blade mentions these “three smooth Blades specialized in parrying opposing attacks”.

However, at the time of writing, Shinobi Shadow is one of the lightest Blades available, weighing approximately 28 grams. Despite the improved outward weight distribution of the Unique Line, this lack of weight has a negative impact on overall performances.

Being 7 to 12 grams lighter than the heaviest Blades in Beyblade X, Shinobi Shadow lacks inertia, resulting in poor Knock-Out resistance and stamina potential. Therefore, this Blade can be difficult to use in Defense and Stamina type combinations.

Furthermore, the low recoil and light weight of Shinobi Shadow also make it difficult to use in Attack type combinations.

As a result, Shinobi Shadow is heavily outclassed for competitive use, mainly because of its significant lack of weight, thus creating poor stamina, defense and attack potential.

Final Thoughts

The addition of plastic on the primary contact points later proved to be an important factor for Defense type Blades, such as Mummy Curse. Unfortunately, despite its original design, Shinobi Shadow is difficult to enjoy against most Blades weighing more than 34/35 grams.

However, its unique style make it a nice addition in any Beyblade X Collection.
