Description of Croc Crunch 2-60 Quake
Released as a Booster as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on February 5th, 2025, BX-00 Croc Crunch 2-60Q is a right-spin Attack type combination.
This Beyblade was only available via an order form postcard included in the January 15, 2025 issue of CoroCoro Comic magazine, making Croc Crunch a relatively rare Blade. However, it has become much more accessible since its release in Hasbro’s Bite Croc Deluxe String Launcher & Custom Grip Set.
Croc Crunch is a retool of the Shark Edge Blade (Keel Shark in Hasbro). This means the overall shape and design are very similar to Shark Edge, albeit with minor differences. Although Croc Crunch features a green Metal Coat, this Blade is lighter than Shark Scale.
It features Shark Edge’s signature shape, with two long, aggressive blades serving as the main contact points. Both blades are angled upward, allowing for strong upper attacks. The contact points are textured, featuring slight ridges designed to evoke crocodile skin.
The presence of the 2-60 Ratchet increases the risk of a Burst, despite using the Quake Attack Bit.
Overall, the stock combo suffers from erratic movement caused by both the shape of the Blade and the tip of the Quake Bit. The latter causes the stock combo to bounce around the Stadium in an irregular, unpredictable pattern.
As a result, while this Beyblade can be fun due to its look and hopping gimmick, modifications will be necessary to improve its performance.
How to Improve Croc Crunch
Popular Attack-type Bits in the meta game will significantly improve the combo’s behavior and performance. Rush and Low Rush are generally the most effective, as their reduced gear count (10 instead of the usual 12) makes controlling the Beyblade considerably easier while preserving stamina.
However, when the Shark Edge Blade was played in official competitive events during the early days of Beyblade X, it was frequently used in a stationary setup with Defense-type Bits. Today, the best option in that category would be Wedge.
If Wedge or any other Defense or Stamina Bit is used, then 9-60 is definitely the best Ratchet for this specific combo.
If Attack or Balance Bits are used, the choice of Ratchet becomes much more flexible thanks to the increased Burst resistance. Consequently, options such as 3-60, 5-60, or 7-60 can be run with a more moderate risk of Bursts.
Final Thoughts
The Croc Crunch Blade offers performance similar to Shark Edge, which is now outclassed in the meta game, and the other components—2-60 and Quake—are also far from competitive play.
Therefore, Croc Crunch 2-60Q is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
