Description of Knight Mail
First released with Knight Mail 3-85BS from the UX-10 Customize Set U as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on November 2nd, 2024, Knight Mail is a right-spin Defense type Blade.
Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
Knight Mail has an overall hexagonal shape, featuring six primary contact points creating a bumpy perimeter. These contact points alternate between an horizontal position and a vertical one, with 3 contact points being raised. These raised contact points are meant to repel attacks coming from above.
This design could in theory create destabilization potential, although it isn’t necessarily the case in reality. Moreover, the thick, semi-agressive shape of the contact points can repel agressive Blades, although Knight Mail recoil can feel very unpredictable. It doesn’t have enough recoil to Knock-Out low recoil Blades such as Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf, and it may have mixed results against Attack type combinations. While Knight Mail can repel opposing Beyblades, it can also be knocked-out early in Battle.
Furthermore, it may struggle against top tier Attack type Blades, such as Shark Scale and Aero Pegasus.
However, at the time of writing, Knight Mail is one of the heaviest Defense type Blades available, making it one of the best options in this specific type.
Finally, Knight Mail features 3 metal balls, able to move vertically (up and down). Intended to change and adapt the weight distribution of the Blade in order to improve stability, it is very difficult to see any actual efficiency to this gimmick.
It is worth noting that Knight Mail has a “Metal Coat” version, making it 1 gram heavier.
Final Thoughts
While Knight Mail has seen niche use in Beyblade X World Championship, its unpredictable recoil and overall lack of stamina make it outclassed for competitive use.
However, it is one the best Defense type Blades available, making it a nice addition in any Beyblade X Collection.
