Description of 4-70 Ratchet
First released with TyrannoBeat 4-70Q in the BX-31 Random Booster Vol. 3 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports system on April 27th, 2024, 4-70 (or four seventy) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
The number “4” refers to the number of blades along the Ratchet’s perimeter, so 4-70 has four blades. In Beyblade X, Ratchets blades are acting as weak points for burst attacks, therefore players have to make sure the blades of the ratchet are not too exposed.
Additionally, the shape of 4-70 blades/protrusions are easy to strike for opposing Beyblades, thus increasing Burst risk. At the time of writing, the “4” shape is not used in tournaments due to its low Burst resistance.
The number “70” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 7 mm. 4-70 features a stronger lock than 4-60, and a weaker lock than 4-80. Its height makes it slighlty easier to strike from below, but it has better Burst resistance than 4-80, thanks to its lower height.
Final Thoughts on the 4-70 Ratchet
“4” Ratchets have poor Burst resistance in general, making 4-70 a risky option. Players lacking alternatives may want to use this Ratchet in Attack/Balance type combinations, with Bits featuring a widened shaft to increase Burst resistance. Additionally, 4-70 being easier to strike due to its taller height, 4-60 is a preferred option at the time of writing.
