Description of the Variant Ring

First released with the B-169 Starter Variant Lucifer Mobius 2D as part of the Superking Layer system on July 18th, 2020, Variant is a right-spin defense type Ring.

This Ring has a circular shape, featuring 12 protrusions along its perimeter. These protrusions act as blades meant to create continuous strikes and repel the opposing Beyblade. Six blades have a “thick” design, intended to “strike” the opposing Beyblade. Six blades have a “sharp” design, meant to “counter” the opposing Beyblade.

In reality, these blades are not agressive enough to create real attack potential. Furthermore, the light weight of this Ring makes the combination easily pushed back. However, the 2D Chassis can make this Ring look decent in opposite-spin battles.

Therefore, there is no real competitive application for this Ring, lacking weight to create enough stamina and defense potential.

Intended to be a defense type Ring with the ability to repel opposing Beyblades, Variant’s 12 blades are not aggressive enough to inflict meaningful strikes. Furthermore, the Ring lacks weight, resulting in poor stamina potential and making the combination easy to knock back.

Therefore, Variant is not a must have for competitive players. It can be a nice addition for collectors when combined with the 2D Chassis.
