Description of 4-55 Ratchet
First released in the CX-02 Wizard Arc R4-55LO Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line on March 29th, 2025, 4-55 (or Four Fifty-Five) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
The number “4” refers to the number of blades along the Ratchet’s perimeter, so 4-55 has four blades. In Beyblade X, Ratchets blades are acting as weak points for burst attacks, therefore players have to make sure the blades of the ratchet are not too exposed.
Additionally, since 4-55 has a lower height, the four protrusions are wider than those of 4-60, making them easier to strike for the opposing Beyblade. This change in design is meant to keep Beyblade X gameplay balanced, because lower combinations are more difficult to Burst.
The number “55” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 5,5 mm. This height is considered as “low”, being 0,5 mm lower than the 6 mm standard height. Therefore, this Ratchet can be used to strike opponents from below more easily.
Furthermore, the “55” height Ratchets have a different lock mechanism than the “60”, “70” and “80” height Ratchets. The lock has less resistance, and it is much smaller than the regular ones, resulting in a much lighter weight.
4-55 is the lowest Ratchet available at the time of writing, but its large protrusions and its light weight may not necessarily be optimal for competitive players, despite its lower height. However, the low height can make upper attacks easier to achieve in lattack type combinations.
