Description of Mummy Curse
First released with Mummy Curse 7-55W from the UX-18 Random Booster Vol. 8 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on December 27th, 2025, Mummy Curse is a right-spin Defense type Blade.
Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
Mummy Curse has an overall circular shape, featuring four primary contact points creating a smooth perimeter. Furthermore, the Blade is thick, with a metal upper part, and a lower part entirely made of plastic. The size of this plastic lower part has low recoil, which tends to successfully drain Attack type combos Stamina by mitigating their attacks.
Moreover, Mummy Curse also has a gimmick : this Blade features an additional plastic contact point, able to extend and protrude from the Blade under the effect of centrifugal force, when spinning at high velocity.
Against Attack type combinations, the effect of this gimmick is negligible and/or hard to see. However, against Stamina/Defense type combinations, the gimmick is easy to see and it does have a noticeable effect. When the additional contact point comes out of the Blade, it creates a barrier, similarly to the rubber barrier of the Lucifer Beyblades from Beyblade Burst.
In reality, this prevents Blade to Blade contacts from happening, creating a very small separation between both Blades. This keeps Mummy Curse more stable, mitigating the destabilization potential of opposing Beyblades.
While Mummy Curse doesn’t have enough stamina potential to outclass the best options in that type, such as Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf, it can be used with great success against top tier Attack type Blades, such as Shark Scale.
Final Thoughts
Mummy Curse may not be versatile enough to find use in competitive play. However, it successfully embodies Defense type identity, due to its lack of stamina potential and yet great capacity to mitigate agressive Beyblades attacks.
Therefore, it is one the best Defense type Blades available, making it a nice addition in any Beyblade X Collection.
