Description of 5-70 Ratchet
First released with the UX-03 Wizard Rod 5-70DB Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on March 30th, 2024, 5-70 (or Five Seventy) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
The number “5” refers to the number of protrusions along the Ratchet’s perimeter, 5-70 has five blades. In Beyblade X, Ratchets blades are acting as weak points for burst attacks, therefore players have to make sure the blades of the ratchet are not too exposed.
The five protrusions along 5-70 perimeter create a circular shape, creating high LAD potential as a result. The “5” type of Ratchet is very versatile, it can be used to enhance burst attack and raw attack potential of a combination, and it tends to help stabilize combinations using unbalanced Blades. However, depending on the combo, this Ratchet tends to have a negative impact on stamina potential when combined with well balanced Blades and stable stamina Bits such as Ball.
“5” Ratchets are most often used in stationary combinations, anti-attack combinations, and spin-steal combos due to their high LAD potential.
5-70 Ratchet Height
The number “70” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 7 mm. 5-70 features a weaker lock than 5-80, and a slightly stronger lock than 5-60 . However, in spite of their weaker lock, “70” Ratchets tend to have a better Burst Resistance than “80” variants, and a weaker Burst resistance than their “60” counterpart, height being a key factor when it comes to Burst rate.
Therefore, “70” Ratchets are usually used with attack/balance type Bits, featuring a wider shaft and increased burst-resistance. Players willing to experiment with 5-70 in Stamina and Defense type combinations may use the Bit Hexa, providing a defensive behavior, with good stability and stamina, as well as increased Burst resistance thanks to its widened shaft.
