Description of Eclipse
First released with CX-09 Starter Sol Eclipse D5-70TK as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line on September 27th, 2025, Eclipse is a right-spin Balance type Main Blade.
Eclipse has an an overall hexagonal shape, featuring 10 primary contact points on its perimeter. This Main Blade has a gimmick : it can flipped to change the contact points orientation.
When the red side is visible, Eclipse is used in its “Attack/upper mode”, with its contact points slanting upward. This design is intended to create upper attacks, lifting the opposing Beyblade to facilitate Knock-Outs, and/or destabilizing it.
When the blue side is visible, Eclipse is used in its “defense/smash mode”, with its contact points slanting downward. Smash Attacks are intended to push the opposing Beyblade down on the stadium floor with force, resulting in a sudden destabilization.
In reality, while this Main Blade has a five-sided shape, it has a grand total of 10 contact points. Therefore, Eclipse also creates Barrage attacks to some extent, no matter what the chosen mode is. Furthermore, despite its official “Balance” type label, this Main Blade has decent recoil, especially when compared to Reaper, another Balance type Main Blade from the Custom Line.
As a result, while its raw attack potential is outclassed by Blast, Eclipse is a fairly aggressive option.
Additionally, in order to accommodate for the Assist Blade, Custom Line Main Blades are significantly taller than regular Blades, exposing the Ratchet a bit more, thus increasing Burst risk. The taller height of the CX Blades also means they are easier to destabilize, a key gameplay aspect of Beyblade X.
Final Thoughts
Featuring average stamina and decent recoil, Eclipse remains an interesting Main Blade option from the Custom Line.
However, it is outclassed for competitive use. Therefore, Eclipse is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
