Description of Kick
First released with CX-09 Starter Sol Eclipse D5-70TK as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line on September 27th, 2025, Trans Kick (or TK) is a Balance type Bit.
As its name suggest, Trans Kick is the Trans variant of the Bit Kick, allowing players to change the combination height, thanks to the addition of a plastic guard above the tip. Trans Kick can be played in “Low” or “High” mode : the combination will sit 1mm below or above the average height.
Players can choose a mode manually before the Battle. Moreover, height can also change during Xtreme Dash attacks : the tip will rotate when engaged on the X-Line, sometimes resulting in a mode change.
Like Kick, TK has a an hexagonal tip (albeit smaller than Kick) with a gap in its center. This reduces friction thus saving stamina for the end of the Battle. The hexagonal shape is meant to make this Bit versatile, allowing both attack and counter attack moves, according to Takara Tomy official description.
In reality, while Kick behavior can be reminiscent of Taper and Unite, Trans Kick is more docile and stationary when a flat launch is used, due to the smaller size of the tip. However, the smaller size of the tip also creates less stability. This makes a TK combination easier to destabilize than a Kick combination.
Furthermore, while TK initial behavior can be docile, Xtreme Dash Attacks can be inconsistent and risky, due to the “Trans” gimmick. If players launch TK in Low Mode, the plastic guard rotation can be stopped by the Ratchet wider part. This can cause unpredictable Xtreme Dash Attacks. When the Trans gimmick is stuck in Low Mode, the TK combination can skip the X-Line, thus preventing the attack to occur. It can also result in extremely fast Xtreme Dash attacks, creating a high self knock-out risk.
Therefore, if players are looking to attack and use Xtreme Dash Attacks, we strongly recommend to launch Trans Kick in High Mode. This will create a smooth transition from High to Low mode during the Xtreme Dash, thus creating a smoother X-Dash Attack as well.
Final Thoughts
Trans Kick can be very interesting thanks to its Low Mode, although it comes with weaknesses : the necessity to launch the combination in High Mode increases Burst Risk, and the smaller tip also increases Knock-Out risk.
As a result, the standard variant Kick may be preferred for competitive use.
Therefore, Trans Kick is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
