Description of 8-70 Ratchet
First released with CX-14 Starter Knight Fortress GV8-70UN as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line Expand Blade on March 28th, 2026, 8-70 (or Eight Seventy) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
The number “8” refers to the number of protrusions along the Ratchet’s perimeter, which means that 8-70 has 8 protrusions. In Beyblade X, Ratchets protrusions are usually acting as weak points for burst attacks, thus having a crucial role in Burst Resistance.
As a result, Eight Seventy has a wide octogonal shape, making this Ratchet an easy target for opposing combos to make contact with. Therefore, although the weight of 8-70 might make it interesting in theory, its mediocre Burst Resistance makes it an outclassed option for competitive play.
However, this Ratchet can be paired with Attack or Balance types Bits to increase its Burst Resistance.
8-70 Ratchet Height
The number “70” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 7 mm. This height is considered as “intermediate”, sitting right between the standard “60” height, and the tall “80” height. Furthermore, “70” height Ratchets have stronger locks than the “50” and “60” height Ratchets. However, when compared to the “50” and “60” variants, “70” Ratchets are still slightly easier to strike and Burst due to their increased height.
Nonetheless, “70” height Ratchets are becoming more popular in the meta game.
