Description of Leon Crest 7-60GN
Released as a Booster as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on August 10th, 2024, UX-06 Leon Crest 7-60GN is a right-spin Defense type combination.
As all Unique Line models, this Beyblade features resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This further increases Outward Weight Distribution, a characteristic that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
Unique Line models also have a gimmick : Leon Crest gimmick comes from the synergy between the Leon Crest Blade, and the Ratchet 7-60. Both are meant to create a “Defensive Wall”, with 7-60 protrusions aligning with the large plastic frame of the Blade, which creates auxiliary contact points.
When used with the stock combination, this Beyblade can struggle against many other stocj combos available in Beyblade X. This is due to the complex design of the Blade, and the poor stability and Knock-out resistance created by the Bit Gear Needle.
Since the Blade has a large frame, working as auxiliary contact points, the metal part is located at the very top of the Bey. This design makes the stock combination easy to destabilize, especially when struck on the metal part of the Blade.
As a result, with Gear Needle providing little stability, Leon Crest 7-60GN can be easily destabilized and knocked out. Therefore, this Beyblade can struggle against both Attack type and Stamina combinations.
However, the Ratchet 7-60 is a great component. It is one of the heaviest Ratchets available at the time of writing, and it has decent Burst Resistance. Therefore, 7-60 is a top tier component, often used in official Beyblade X tournaments, mainly in Attack type combinations.
Furthermore, while the Blade is not a top tier component and can prove difficult to enjoy at first, it can be a decent Blade in niche, specific scenarios.
How to Improve Leon Crest
The Blade Leon Crest is easy to destabilize, which means that players may need to replace Gear Needle, and maybe avoid Defense type Bits entirely. Players willing to keep a Defense oriented behavior can use Hexa, a Bit that has great synergy with 7-60.
Furthermore, this Blade can show decent Defense potential when struck on its frame, the plastic part of the Blade. Therefore, even though it is not the usual routine in Beyblade X, it can be interesting to make the combination slightly taller. This will help to avoid collisions on the top, metal part of Leon Crest.
Therefore, players can use the popular Ball and Free Ball Bits for a safe, stamina oriented combination. However, it can be interesting to use Wall Ball to add more stability and height, at the cost of an increased Self Knock-Out risk. Players can also experiment with Disk Ball, a taller option, which will increase Burst risk.
While 7-60 is a great Ratchet, players may need to replace it with 9-60 to increase Burst Resistance in taller Stamina type combinations.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the stock combination can be disappointing, mainly due to the choice of Gear Needle, a Bit that tends to increase self Knock-out risk because of its elongated gears.
However, 7-60 is a must have for competitive players, making this release far more interesting. Furthermore, the Blade Leon Crest is one of the first enjoyable Defense type Blades. While far from being a top tier option, players who enjoy its aesthetic can have fun with this component.
Therefore, this Beyblade can be considered as a must have in order to get 7-60, a popular choice in official Beyblade X tournaments.
