Description of Blast
First released with the CX-07 Starter Pegasus Blast ATr as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line on July 19th, 2025, Blast is a right-spin Main Blade featuring a three-sided design.
This Main Blade shares similiraties with Aero Pegasus, featuring the iconic three-sided shape of the Pegasus line. Blast also has three gaps in order to facilitate air flow, albeit much smaller than the ones found on Aero Pegasus. However, unlike the latter, Blast main contact points are slanting downward, resulting in Smash Attacks (according to the Japanese definition) instead of upper attacks .
Since the Custom Line Main Blades have to accommodate for the Assist Blades, the contact points are thinner when compared to Attack type Blades from the Basic and the Unique Line such as Aero Pegasus, resulting in less raw attack power. When compared to the latter, Blast has three thinner sections ont its contact points, creating three small gaps between itself and the available Assist Blades.
Additionally, Custom Line Main Blades are significantly taller than regular Blades, exposing the Ratchet a bit more, thus increasing Burst risk. The taller height of the CX Blades also means they are easier to destabilize, a key gameplay aspect of Beyblade X.
Blast Performances
However, at the time of writing, Blast is the heaviest and most reliable Custom Line Main Blade. Thanks to its heavy weight, recoil is more predictable, therefore its results are more consistent as long as it is used in a coherent combination. Despite its taller height, this Main Blade can be used in Attack type combinations with some degree of success.
Moreover, Blast has high synergy with the Assist Blade Wheel. The result is a tall Blade due to how thick Wheel is. As we have mentioned in previous articles, a taller height can actually be beneficial to CX combinations.
Wheel tends to mitigate opposing Beyblades attacks in a reliable manner, while Blast slowly depletes the opposing Beyblade stamina by destabilizing it. The Bit Wall Ball and the high stability it provides can turn Blast Wheel in a Wizard Rod, Silver Wolf and Scorpio Spear slayer.
On the other hand, results can be mixed against top tier attack type combinations. Wheel provides great defense, but the taller height of Custom Line combos can be exploited by top tier Blades such as Aero Pegasus and Phoenix Wing, or Dran Buster and Impact Drake.
Final Thoughts
At the time of writing, Blast is one of the most significant release in the Custom Line. Combined with the Assit Blade Wheel, it may even become a game changer, allowing players to use reliable taller combinations. If this theory proves to be true, it could also give more significance to agressive attack type combinations, which would become the best counter against such combos.
Therefore, in our opinion, Blast can be considered as a must have for competitive players and collectors alike.
