Description of High Hold’ Driver

First released with the B-186 Random Booster Volume 26 as part of the Dynamite Battle system on June 26th, 2021, High Hold’ is an attack type Performance Tip. It is the High and Dash variant of Hold Performance Tip.

The “Dash” version of a Driver has a stronger spring, increasing burst resistance significantly. The “High” version means that the Driver has a taller height.

This Driver has a wide free-spinning disc with a flat tip in its center. The surface of the disc is ridged, resulting in sudden accelerations when the disc makes contact with the stadium floor.

The wide free-spinning disc allows the combination to move with speed, making Hold a fast Performance Tip. Furthermore, the ridged surface of the disc creates enough friction to keep the combo inside the stadium and catch the Tornado Ridge.

Therefore, High Hold’ can be used to counter Tornado Stall combinations, providing the speed to chase and knock the opposing Beyblade out.

Additionally, the wide shape of the tip prevents the combo from creating flower patterns. The wide, free-spinning disc of High Hold’ offers little control, making this Driver difficult to use in traditional attack type combinations.

However, the wide disc can keep the combination stable and its free-spinning nature creates high spin-equalizing potential as well as decent LAD (Life-After-Death). Therefore, High Hold’ is a decent option in spin-stealing combinations, albeit not competitive.

Finally, as it is often the case with free-spinning components, performances will vary from a copy to another. Copies of High Hold’ with limited free-spin are usually faster and capable of creating Tornado Stalls. Copies with high free-spin have less speed, and more stamina potential. These copies are usually unable to reach the Tornado Ridge, moving around in circles instead.

Final Thoughts on High Hold’ Driver

Intended to be an attack type Performance Tip, High Hold’ is best used in spin-stealing combinations. Its wide tip results in limited control, making it a poor option in attack type combos.

This taller height of this Performance Tip makes it a better option than its predecessor Hold in Superking, Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate combinations.

While this Driver can have decent results, it is outclassed by other attack type Performance Tips featuring a free-spinning Disc, such as Xplosion or Destroy’.

Therefore, High Hold’ is not a must have for competitive players, but it can be a nice addition for collectors.
