Description of Xplosion Driver
First released with the B-203 Ultimate Fusion DX Set as part of the Burst Ultimate system on October 8th, 2022, Xplosion is an attack type Performance Tip.
This Performance Tip features a six-pointed star tip made of hard rubber, sitting under a free-spinning plastic disc. Four small blades are located along the disc perimeter.
Rubber increases friction, which creates aggressive yet controllable movements. Therefore, this Performance Tip provides high speed and control, allowing the combination to maintain flower patterns and deliver powerful attacks with consistency. However, the hard rubber on Xplosion’s tip is not as controllable as the softer rubber used on Xtreme’. Therefore, Xtreme’ is more aggressive and more controllable than Xplosion.
Nonetheless, while rubber attack tips typically result in decreased stamina potential, the hard rubber used on the tip of Xplosion provides more aggressiveness and control than plastic while maintaining decent stamina. The tip design along with the free-spinning nature of the disc result in decent stamina and high LAD (Life-After-Death) potential. Furthermore, the free-spinning plastic guard helps the combination to remain stable and re-stabilize itself when knocked off balance with minimal stamina loss.
Therefore, Xplosion overall design is reminiscent of Destroy’, but it proves to be more controllable, due to the hard rubber of the tip. Additionally, this Performance Tip has enough speed, friction and stamina to be used in the DB standard stadium, where traditional rubber attack drivers usually struggle.
Similarly to Destroy’, Xplosion can also be used to counter other attack type combinations, in same and opposite-spin battles.
Final Thoughts on Xplosion Driver
While Xtreme’ is the most popular choice in attack type combinations, Xplosion is a unique Performance Tip, providing speed, stamina and LAD comparable, if not superior to Destroy’. Furthermore, Xplosion proves to be more controllable than Destroy’, allowing to maintain flower patterns and tornado stalls.
This driver has been overlooked in the competitive meta-game because of the focus on stamina combinations, but it remains one of the best attack type Performance Tips from the Beyblade Burst generation.
Therefore, Xplosion is a must have in any Beyblade Burst collection.
