Description of Samurai Calibur 6-70M
Released as a Booster as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on August 9th, 2025, BX-45 Samurai Calibur 6-70M is a right-spin Balance type combination.
Equipped with the Bit Merge and the Ratchet 6-70, Samurai Calibur 6-70M is a tall stock combination, sitting 5mm above the standard height.
The Balance type identity is mainly created by the Blade Samurai Calibur and the Bit Merge. The Blade itself is fairly versatile, with decent amount of Attack, Stamina and Defense potential. Moreover, the Bit Merge can create two different types of behavior : agressive and stationary.
Therefore, players can choose how to engage Battles depending on their launching technique. When launched at an angle, this stock combination will create agressive, albeit unpredictable movement patterns, due to the friction created by the rubber ring found on Merge. When launched flat, parallel to the stadium floor, Samurai Calibur 6-70M creates a stationary behavior, reminiscent of Defense type Bits.
However, due to its tall height, the combination tends to easily tilt and wobble. As a result, Merge rubber ring will make contact with the stadium floor, suddenly increasing friction and creating erratic accelerations. Moreover, Merge has 18 Gears, making Xtreme Dash Attacks faster at the cost of stamina.
Therefore, this stock combination is easy to destabilize due to its tall height, and the rubber part as well as the 18 Gears of Merge both increase friction and movement speed, resulting in poor stamina potential. Furthermore, the increased number of Gears, combined with the sharp plastic tip create poor Knock-Out/Self-Knock-Out risk.
How to Improve Samurai Calibur
The Blade Samurai Calibur may not be a top-tier option, but it can be used with some degree of success in lower Attack/Balance type combinations, using Bits such as Low Rush or Kick. Ratchets such as 4-50 or 1-50 can be experimented with to make the combination as low as possible.
Unfortunately, Merge has many weaknesses, making it interesting in a limited number of scenarios. We used this Bit tall height to counter spin-equalization combinations, such as Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate. Merge is tall enough to prevent/mitigate contacts with the opposing Blade, making Cobalt Dragoon unable to absorb the Merge combination spin.
However, players willing to play Black Shell in Stamina/Defense type combinations may use Free Ball (Stamina) or Wedge with some degree of success.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this stock combination does not feature any top-tier, competitive component. However, the Blade is enjoyable thanks to its versatility. The Bit Merge can show glimpses of what taller Bits could provide to Beyblade X meta-game, although it has too many weaknesses to have any competitive use.
Therefore, this Beyblade is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
