Description of Shark Scale
First released in the UX-15 Shark Scale Deck Set as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on August 9th, 2025, Shark Scale is a right-spin Attack type Blade.
Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
Unique Line Beyblades also have a gimmick, usually based on all components synergy. This Blade combines two different types of attacks : Barrage and Upper Attacks. In reality, it means that Shark Scale will perform upper attacks in quick succession.
Shark Scale has two large blades, each featuring 3 main contact points slanting upward. Each blade also has a small, secondary contact point made of plastic. Therefore, this Blade has a total of 6 main contact points and 2 secondary contact points.
Thanks to its design and decent weight (approximately 37,5 grams), Shark Scale has high knock out and Burst attack potential. While it has great synergy with the original components from its stock combination, 4-50 and Under Flat, this Blade can also display its impressive attack power in taller combinations.
The two large blades on Shark Scale are lowered, allowing it to perform Upper Attacks even when used in standard height combinations. Upper attacks tend to lift the opposing Beyblade up, which often results in the destabilization of that Bey. Furthermore, the quick succession of the 6 contact points along its perimeter increase Burst attack potential.
Even when combined with “60” Ratchets and Bits such as Rush and Low Rush, Shark Scale can Burst opposing Beyblades with impressive consistency. The Unique Line features – more specifically the increased Outward Weight Distribution – further enhance its attack power, while maintaining decent stamina potential when compared to Blades such as Dran Buster and Impact Drake.
However, Shark Scale may not have enough recoil to knock-out top tier Blades such as Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf combinations with consistency, although it can Burst top tier combinations such as Wizard Rod 9-60 Ball on a regular basis. Nonetheless, this Blade can be a tough match-up for Phoenix Wing and Aero Pegasus combinations, two popular Blades in Beyblade X official tournaments.
Therefore, Shark Scale may not be as versatile as Phoenix Wing and Aero Pegasus ; its very agressive style and decent performances are closer to what players can expect from Dran Buster or Impact Drake, albeit with better control and stamina potential. Furthermore, it is worth noting that Shark Scale does not seem to suffer from Dran Buster and Impact Drake wear and tear issues.
Final Thoughts
When compared to its predecessor, Shark Edge, Shark Scale feels like a big upgrade. It is easier to control, has more stamina and a better attack potential overall.
With no significant wear and tear issues, this Blade can be considered as a must have for competitive players and collectors alike.
