Description of Zone Performance Tip
First released with the B-160 King Helios Zone 1B Booster as part of the Superking Layer system on March 28th, 2020, Zone is a balance type Performance Tip.
Zone features a sharp conical plastic tip barely protruding from a free-spinning plastic ring, sitting under a wider free-spinning disc. The ring and the disc are part of the same free-spinning component.
In theory, the free-spinning part reduces friction between the tip and the stadium floor, increasing the stamina potential of the combination. Furthermore, it can act as a brake to prevent the combination from being knocked-out, and allow the combo to re-stabilize itself after being knocked off balance.
Advertised as a balance Performance Tip, Zone is in reality a strong stamina driver, its design creating high stamina potential and decent mobility. Zone is decent in same-spin stamina battles, but it is at its best in opposite-spin match-ups. It also features decent mobility, allowing it to be assembled with defense oriented Blades to counter attack type combinations.
Furthermore, if Zone’ is not available, Zone can be used as an alternative to create attack type combinations designed to battle the DB standard stadium.
While Zone has been outclassed by its successor Zone’ and other stamina Performance Tips from the Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate systems such as Bearing Drift, it remains a unique driver combining mobility and high stamina.
Therefore, Zone is not a must have, but it can be a nice addition in any Beyblade collection.
However, while not being a highly competitive component, its successor Zone’ and its attachments X and Z can be recommended, see the complete article with detailed analysis here.
