Description of Glide
First released with Phoenix Rudder 9-70G from the UX-07 Phoenix Rudder Deck Set as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on August 10th, 2024, Glide (or G) is a Stamina type Bit.
Glide features a ball shaped tip made of P.O.M. (polyoxymethylene) protruding from the plastic part of the Bit. P.O.M. creates low friction, resulting in high stamina potential, at the cost of an increased Knock-Out risk. Furthermore, like Hexa, Glide has 16 gears instead of the standard 12, further increasing Knock-Out/self Knock-Out risk.
Moreover, the increased number of gears result in faster Xtreme Dash Attacks, at the cost of Stamina. It is worth noting that the increased number of gears usually make Xtreme-Dash more difficult to perform.
However, the plastic part surrounding the tip has two small protrusions, designed to add stability to a Glide combination. Thanks to these protrusions, Glide can maintain its posture when the combination loses spin velocity.
As a result, the extra stability provided by these protrusions made Glide the first Bit to be used with the Blade Cobalt Dragoon in competitive spin-equalization combinations. While Glide is now outclassed by Elevate in that specific combination type, it was used in official Beyblade X tournaments with some degree of success to counter the famous Wizard Rod 9-60 Ball combo.
Final Thoughts
While Glide is now outclassed for competitive use, it used to be a top tier option in stamina oriented competitive environments. At the time of writing, the improved stability of Glide is now outclassed by Elevate, and its low levels of friction make it easier to knock-out in Attack oriented competitive environments.
Therefore, Glide is not a must have, although it is a strong addition in any Beyblade X collection nonetheless.
