Description of Xceed Driver
First released with the B-159 Super Hyperion Xceed 1A Booster as part of the Superking Layer system on March 28th, 2020, Xceed is an attack type Performance Tip.
Xceed is an attack type Performance Tip, featuring a nice combination of plastic and rubber. The tip itself is flat and made of rubber, barely protruding from a circular plastic tip. The latter is sitting under a plastic disc, and both tip and disc are part of the same free-spinning part. This design implies that depending on the angle, both plastic and rubber can make contact with the stadium floor.
Therefore, this driver can show good levels of aggressiveness while retaining a decent amount of stamina.
Compared to flat rubber drivers such as Xtreme’, Xceed is less predictable and harder to control, meaning the flower pattern can be broken pretty early in the battle. Nonetheless, the high stamina displayed by Xceed can be used to counter top tier-attack combinations, since the plastic part of the tip will allow for great tornado stalls. Xceed can make those wide circles on the tornado ridge with great speed and stamina, and its free spinning tip can help out-spin opposite-spin combinations.
Final Thoughts
With no “dash” upgrade (no stronger spring mechanism), Xceed is outclassed by its successor, Xceed’. Therefore, Xceed is not a must-have, but it can be a nice addition to any player’s collection.
