Description of Mammoth Tusk
First released with BX-00 Mammoth Tusk 2-80E as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on December 27th, 2024, Mammoth Tusk is a right-spin Balance type Blade.
Mammoth Tusk is a retool of Hells Scythe, meaning that Mammoth Tusk design is inspired by Hells Scythe, with similar plastic parts and a different metal component. Mammoth Tusk shares the same four-sided shape, with four primary contact points.
However, when compared to Hells Scythe, Mammoth Tusk doesn’t feature gaps along its perimeter. Generally, Mammoth Tusk is considered to have less stamina than Hells Scythe, but players also find that this Blade has less recoil than its original version, Hells Scythe.
Therefore, while Hells Scythe was iconic during the very first era of the metagame with the popular Hells Scythe 3-60 Ball combo, Mammoth Tusk is more frequently run with Balance and Attack type Bits. Furthermore, Mammoth Tusk has not seen the same level of success as Hells Scythe in official competitive play.
Additionally, the added Black Metal Coat makes Takara Tomy’s mold heavier than the original Hasbro release, Tusk Mammoth.
While Mammoth Tusk overall behavior is very envoyable, the added weight of this new mold is not enough to make this Blade more relevant in Beyblade X meta game. Weighing approximately 33,5 grams, this Blade is just too light to compete with Beyblade X top tier options.
Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, despite its added Metal Coat, Mammoth Tusk remains too light when compared to other available options. Therefore, this Blade is heavily outclassed for competitive use.
However, this Blade is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
