Description of Dran Strike
First released with the BX-49 Starter Dran Strike 4-50FF as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line Infinity system on May 16th, 2026, Dran Strike is a right-spin Attack type Blade.
BX Infinity Blades feature a metal Gear Chip integrated directly into the Blade mold, whereas the Basic Line Gear Chip used to be a separate plastic piece. The direct result of this design change is higher overall weight, as well as a more center-heavy weight distribution—a feature that typically benefits defense-type combos. In the specific case of Dran Strike, this design change is intended to increase the power of its Smash Attacks and Barrage Attacks.
Dran Strike features a total of 6 blades, creating barrage attack potential similar to Dran Dagger. However, this Blade maintains an overall triangular shape, with its 6 blades split into 3 sections. Each section consists of a smaller, downward-sloping blade—where only the tip makes contact with opposing setups—and a second blade that is much longer, wider, and slightly angled downward, ending with an upward tilt at its tip.
The sheer width of Dran Strike’s 3 major blades delivers powerful Smash Attacks, while the shifting angle allows it to destabilize opposing combos, sometimes quite violently.
In reality, the barrage attacks create significant Burst attack potential, though generally lower than that of Shark Scale. As a result, Dran Strike is primarily characterized by the sheer violence of its Smash Attacks, proving capable of knocking out virtually any type of setup with relative consistency.
However, when comparing Dran Strike’s results to other Attack type Blades in the current meta game, two major weaknesses stand out. The first is Dran Strike’s tendency to suffer from its own recoil—meaning a combo equipped with Dran Strike runs the risk of self-knocking off its own hits against the opponent.
Furthermore, Dran Strike lacks stamina compared to Blades like Shark Scale, Aero Pegasus, or Wyvern Hover. Consequently, in typical attack-type Blade fashion, Dran Strike forces players to make the difference in the first few seconds of the battle, or risk losing by Spin Finish.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, Dran Strike lacks the versatility to be considered a must-have alongside Blades like Shark Scale or Aero Pegasus. However, its outstanding attack power allows it to secure a spot in the decks of players who favor this aggressive, uncompromising playstyle.
