Description of Perseus Dark B6-80W

Released as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on March 29th, 2025, the CX-03 Perseus Dark B6-80W is a right-spin Defense type combination. It is a Booster, no launchers are included.

This Beyblade is the first Defense type combination released as part of the CX/Custom Line, the third Beyblade X Line. It features customisable Blades, being made of three interchangeable parts : the Lock Chip, the Main Blade and the Assist Blade.

As with every Custom Line model, the combination is slightly taller than other Beys from the Basic and Unique Line, because of the increased height of the customisable Blade. At the time of writing, a taller height in Beyblade X usually results in poor performances : height exposes Ratchets, resulting in poor Burst Resistance, but also resulting in a more erratic behavior and an overall lack of stability.

Furthermore, this stock combination has a tall Ratchet, 6-80, as well as a tall Assist Blade, Bumper, whose shape gives little to no protection to the Ratchet. Therefore, due to its tall height and the design of Bumper, Dark Perseus main weakness is its poor Burst Resistance, making it frustrating to play against agressive Attack type Beyblades.

However, Dark Perseus can have decent results against other Defense type Beys or Stamina type stock combinations. This is mainly due to the interesting Main Blade Dark, and the decent stamina potential of Wedge, a new Defense type Bit introduced with this release.

Additionally, due to the fact that the contact points are made of both metal and plastic, recoil can be quite unpredictable, sometimes resulting in a feeling of randomness.

How to Improve Perseus Dark B6-80W

Our priority with this combination is to improve Burst resistance. Players who want to keep the Assist Blade Bumper may replace 6-80 with 9-60, which at the time of writing is still the Ratchet with the best Burst resistance.

Additionally, players can replace Bumper with other Assist Blades such as Slash, Charge, Turn or Jaggy to improve Burst resistance. It will also provide a counter attack/anti attack style that suits Dark really well.

This stock combination may be easily improved with obvious stamina options such as Ball, but Dark can also perform really well in an anti attack role, using Bits such as Kick, Unite, or Level. Level will provide high levels of aggressiveness at the beginning of the Battle, as well as stamina and a much needed stability in the second part of the Battle. For example, we really enjoyed combos such as Perseus Dark Slash 9-60 Kick, as well as Perseus Dark Turn 9-60 Level.

Final Thoughts

The stock combination is too tall to be efficient, suffering from a high Burst Risk as well as poor Knock-Out resistance. However, both Dark and Wedge are very interesting additions for players interested in defense type Beyblades.

The Assit Blade Bumper tall height makes the use of 9-60 almost mandatory, but it will allow players to customize their Beys with more depth than before in Beyblade X, thanks to the Custom Line models.
