Description of 9-70 Ratchet
First released in the UX-07 PhoenixRudder Deck Set as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports system on August 10th, 2024, 9-70 (or Nine Seventy) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation.
The number “9” refers to the number of blades along the Ratchet’s perimeter, which means that 9-70 has 9 blades. In Beyblade X, Ratchets blades are acting as weak points for burst attacks, therefore players have to make sure the blades of the ratchet are not too exposed. On 9-70, out of the 9 blades, 6 are barely protruding from the Ratchet, increasing burst-resistance.
Furthermore, the three larger blades on 9-70 can be aligned with Phoenix Wing contact points, which can increase attack potential. More specifically, all three Launcher Hooks are protruding on the Blade perimeter, creating an additional contact point on each wing. Nine Seventy blades can be lined up with these three additional contact points. It is worth noting that the three protrusions on 9-70 perimeter will line up differently depending on how the Ratchet is positioned. Therefore, it is recommended to check the alignement of Nine Seventy protrusions and the Blade contact points when assembling the combination.
With only three protrusions featuring a limited contact surface, burst-resistance is further increased.
9-70 Ratchet Height
The number “70” refers to the Ratchet height, which in this case is 7 mm. This height is considered as “medium”, being 1 mm taller than its “60” counterpart. Furthermore, the “70” height Ratchets locks are weaker than the “80” height Ratchets, and slightly tighter than the “60” height variants.
9-70 Burst resistance is lower than 9-60, and higher than 9-80.
Final Thoughts
9-70 is a versatile Ratchet, which can be used in any type of combinations. At the time of writing, 9-60 is still the preferred option in a competitive environment, but 9-70 remains quite safe due to its high Burst resistance.
