Description of Impact Drake
First released with the Impact Drake 9-60LR Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on December 28th, 2024, Impact Drake is a right-spin Attack type Blade.
Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
Unique Line Beyblades also have a gimmick, usually based on all components synergy. This Blade has four rubber dragon heads as main contact points.
Impact Drake has a four-sided shape, with four main contact points. It is worth noting that it is one of the heaviest Blades in Beyblade, weighing 39 grams.
The heavy weight and use of rubber on the contact points have various consequences. First of all, while Impact Drake is the successor to Cobalt Drake, it is not as versatile. The former is more specialized and attack oriented, with more attack power at the cost of poor stamina, especially in same spin match-ups.
Impact Drake has high Knock-Out and Burst attack potential, having enough recoil to knock-out Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf combinations with relative consistency. However, the use of rubber also results in poor stamina potential in same spin match-ups, making this Blade less versatile than options such as Phoenix Wing or Aero Pegasus.
Furthermore, like most heavy Blades in Beyblade X, Impact Drake will cause combinations to have a difficult time maintaining their posture. This means that the combination will most likely suddenly fall on the stadium floor when losing spin velocity.
As a result, while the rubber on the contact points can equalize Cobalt Dragoon combinations to some degree, the poor stability displayed by Impact Drake prevents it from being a reliable counter to Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate combos.
Therefore, similarly to Dran Buster, Impact Drake is a very effective Attack type Blade, although its lack of stamina and stability make it a risky option for competitive use.
Wear and Tear
Unfortunately, players may experience wear and tear on this Blade. The rubber will chip quite quickly, and the metal parts on all four contact points will also wear down with time, resulting in reduced attack power. However, the process is not as dramatic and fast as what players will experience with Dran Buster main contact point.
Final Thoughts
The unique shape and design featured on this Blade make it one of the most agressive and powerful Attack type Blades. However, its lack of stamina and stability can make it very frustrating.
Impact Drake has enough raw attack power to knock-out some of the best Blades in Beyblade X, but players need to keep in mind that it will also lose any stamina match-ups against right spin combinations.
Therefore, Impact Drake may not be a must have for competitive players, but its unique attack power make it a great addition in any Beyblade X collection.
