Description of Elevate

First released with the BX-36 Random Booster Whale Wave Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on September 14th, 2024, Elevate (or E) is a Balance type Bit.

Elevate has a flat tip, with a thin protrusion in its center, surrounded by a thick disc intended to “elevate” the combination during Xtreme Dash attacks. Unlike other Balance type Bits, Elevate doesn’t feature a widened shaft, resulting in poor Burst resistance.

The flat tip of “E” is able to create fairly aggressive movements in the early stage of the Battle, while the thin protrusion will help maintaining decent stamina until the end of the Battle.

Furthermore, the wide, flat tip provides high stability, which helps any combination to maintain its posture until the very end of the Battle. E’s stability is now only matched by Wall Ball. Moreover, when the Beyblade tilts and is about to fall on the stadium floor, the combination will actually keep spinning on Elevate’s Disc, providing high L.A.D. potential to the combination.

The high stability and L.A.D. of Elevate made it the obvious choice for competitive Cobalt Dragoon combinations, allowing Cobalt Dragoon to counter the best stamina and attack type combinations, using Blades such as Silver Wolf, Wizard Arrow, and Aero Pegasus.

Elevate “Gimmick”

E raises the combination above the stadium floor when riding the X-Line, which is meant to prevent friction on the stadium floor, thus mitigating stamina losses during Xtreme Dash attacks.

This gimmick, overall, is fairly reliable, but Xtreme Dash Attacks velocity can vary depending on how Elevate makes contact with the Xtreme Line. This simply means that most of Elevate Xtreme Dash attacks will be slower than those of other standard Bits, although sometimes players will also experience high velocity Xtreme Dash attacks.

Furthermore, with the E combination being raised above the stadium floor during Xtreme Dash attacks, it will strike opposing Beyblades from above, facilitating Smash Attacks.

Performances

With high stability and L.A.D. potential, Elevate is quite simply the best Bit for any Spin-Steal/Spin Equalization combinations. As mentioned above, it is heavily used with Cobalt Dragoon, although some players like to combine it with Silver Wolf to counter Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate.

With decent attack and stamina potential, as well as high stability and L.A.D., Takara Tomy thought that Elevate could potentially break the balance of the game. Therefore, they made the choice of removing the widened shaft of standard Balance type Bits, in order to decrease E Burst resistance. Furthermore, Elevate has a high Burst risk, due to its tall posture during Xtreme Dash attacks.

As a result, Takara Tomy made Elevate slightly lower than other Bits, sitting at 29 mm instead of the usual 29,5 mm.

This poor Burst resistance often leads players to use String Launchers instead of Winder Launchers when playing Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate, in order to reduce launch power and avoid the Xtreme-Line at all cost. Obviously, players confident in their control skills can perform “Weak Launches” when using Winder Launchers, since Spin-Equalization combos do not require launch power to perform.

Counters to Elevate

Silver Wolf can be combined with 5-60 and Elevate to counter Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate. However, while not as reliable as Elevate itself, there are other Bits that can be used to counter the infamous Cobalt Dragoon 5-60E.

Wall Ball can be combined with Balance/Attack type Blades to counter Cobalt Dragoon on Elevate. Since Wall Ball has high stability but no L.A.D., agressive, recoil laden Blades such as Aero Pegasus can be used to create space, preventing Cobalt Dragoon from spin-equalizing.

Additionally, Level can be used as well. This Bit has a better chance to destabilize Elevate early, however it doesn’t match Wall Ball stamina potential.

Final Thoughts

Spin-Equalizing combinations will always be the favorite pick of competitive players to counter top-tier stamina combinations, making Elevate a must have in any Beyblade X collection.
