Description of the Bounce Driver

First released with the B-202 Random Booster Vol.30 as part of the Burst Ultimate system on September 10th, 2022, Bounce is a stamina type Performance Tip.

Bounce is a large Driver, featuring a small, sharp conical tip made of plastic. This tip protrudes from a wider shaft, sitting under a wide plastic ring, a “guard” made of plastic.

The tip is spring-loaded, meaning it can move up and down. When a Bounce combination is launched, the tip will move up, pushed back inside the Driver’s shaft when landing on the stadium floor. As soon as the tip is pushed back in the shaft, the built-in spring mechanism will push the tip back in its original position.

This gimmick is intended to soften the impact on the stadium floor when landing, which could in theory improve stamina potential. In reality, the gimmick has a negligible effect, and does not improve Bounce performances.

Furthermore, the guard, the wide ring surrounding this Performance Tip, is not free spinning. Intended to help the combination re-stabilizing itself up, or act as a brake to prevent the combination from being knocked-out, in reality this guard creates high scraping risk.

Therefore, the combination will suffer huge stamina losses every time it tilts, with the guard making contact with the stadium floor and draining stamina in the process.

This Performance Tip has poor stamina and defense potentials. The spring loaded tip gimmick has a a very negligible effect, and the guard gimmick drains stamina. This Driver will have a negative impact on the performances of any combination, which means players should avoid using it, even in a friendly environment.

Therefore, this Driver cannot be recommended.
