Description of the Burst Blade
Released with the B-205 Burst Ultimate VS Set as part of the Burst Ultimate system on November 12th, 2022, Burst is a dual-spin Blade featuring a four blades design.
Similarly to its predecessor Astral, Burst has two small blades and two large blades. These large blades contact points are covered by white rubber, giving spin-stealing potential to the combination. Furthermore, these two blades also feature metal parts, increasing inertia.
Compared to its predecessor Astral, Burst has more rubber and it has spin-steal potential in both spin directions.
The shorter blades are angled, which is meant to create Upper Attacks in right-spin mode and Smash Attacks in left-spin mode. In reality, these two blades are not agressive enough to create Upper Attacks.
Additionally, this Blade features a “Burst Lock”, small protrusions located on both sides of the Blade. These protrusions make it more difficult for the Forge Disc to progress, increasing burst-resistance.
While the overall design of the Blade is balance oriented, its limited attack power and good spin-steal potential are making it a better option in stamina combinations. While this Blade has spin-steal potential in both spin-directions, it is usually used in left-spin mode, combined with the Longinus DB Core.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Burst is an excellent Blade, featuring high stamina and good spin-steal potential. While not considered as a top-tier option in North America, this Blade is popular in Japan, where it is often used in tournaments.
When playing in a 5G format (five combos are required with no repeating parts), this Blade is an additional spin-equalizing tool, with better spin-steal potential than its predecessor Astral.
Therefore, Burst is a must-have in any Beyblade Burst collection.
