Description of Samurai Steel
First released with BX-00 Samurai Steel 5-70GF as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on June 15th, 2025, Samurai Steel is a right-spin balance type Blade.
Samurai Steel is a retool of Leon Claw, meaning that Samurai Steel is inspired by Leon Claw, with similar plastic parts and a different metal component. Samurai Steel shares the same pentagonal shape, with five primary contact points.
However, when compared to Leon Claw, Samurai Steel perimeter is a bit more agressive. Each contact point features a katana blade, and two additional protrusions, making this Blade perimeter bumpier than Leon Claw.
Therefore, although it is also officially labeled as a Balance type Blade, the bumpier design of Samurai Steel contact points make it more attack oriented than Leon Claw, the latter having smoother contact points.
Additionally, the added white Metal Coat makes Takara Tomy’s mold heavier than the original Hasbro release, Steel Samurai.
While Samurai Steel overall behavior is very envoyable, the added weight of this new mold is not enough to make this Blade more relevant in Beyblade X meta game. Weighing approximately 32 grams, this Blade is just too light to compete with Beyblade X top tier options.
Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, despite its added Metal Coat, Samurai Steel remains too light when compared to other available options. Therefore, this Blade is heavily outclassed for competitive use.
Therefore, this Blade is a strong addition in any Beyblade X collection.
