Description of Samurai Steel 5-70GF
Released as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Basic Line system on June 15th, 2025, Samurai Steel 5-70GF is a right-spin Attack type combination. The only way to get this Beyblade was to use a mail order postcard included with the June 2025 issue of the CoroCoro Comic magazine, making this model quite rare.
This Beyblade features Samurai Steel, a retool of Leon Claw. The word “Retool” means that Samurai Steel is inspired by Leon Claw, with similar plastic parts and a different metal component. Samurai Steel shares the same pentagonal shape, with five primary contact points. However, Samurai Steel perimeter is a bit more agressive, making it more attack oriented than Leon Claw.
Furthermore, this stock combination includes 5-70, a great alternative to the already popular 5-60 Ratchet. Moreover, it also has a green copy of Gear Flat.
While Gear Flat is not a top tier Bit in Beyblade X meta game, it can be a fun option when combined with lighter Blades. It results in decent synergy with the Blade : Samurai Steel 5-70GF is fast, semi-agressive combination. However, because of the light weight of the Blade, this stock combination will usually struggle against heavier Beyblades.
Furthermore, the elongated gears of Gear Flat create an increased self knock-out risk.
Overall, although it comes with a slightly taller Ratchet, this stock combination has decent synergy, resulting in a fun Attack type stock combination, with average performances.
How to Improve Samurai Steel
The light weight of Samurai Steel requires top tier components to improve its performances. 5-70 is a good Ratchet, although players can make the combination sit at a lower height with other options, such as 5-60 or 3-60. Additionally, players willing to add extra weight to the combination can use 7-60.
The Bit choice is critical, therefore players can use any top tier option. Bits such as Ball and Free Ball or Hexa will improve stamina potential. Players willing to keep an Attack type Bit can use the popular Rush and Low Rush Bits. Level is a very good alternative thanks to its great stability. Furthermore, Balance type Bits such as Kick and Unite can be used with some degree of success.
Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, this Beyblade is rare and difficult to obtain. Since none of its components can be considered as top tier options in Beyblade X meta game, Samurai Steel 5-70GF cannot be considered as a must have release.
However, it is a great addition for collectors.
