Description of the Dragon DB Core
Dragon is a right-spin DB Core released with the B-199 Gatling Dragon Karma Charge Metal’-10 Booster as part of the Burst Ultimate system on June 25th, 2022.
Similarly to Valkyrie 1, this DB Core features a “Bound attack” gimmick : a built-in spring mechanism that makes the whole layer bounce when struck by an opponent. When receiving a hit, there is a chance that the layer will be pushed back, activating the springs. The spring mechanism will propel the layer back in its original place, thus making the layer “bounce” and repel the opponent in the process.
While intended to work as an offensive tool, the “Bound attack” of Valkyrie 1 and Dragon tends to make attack combinations prone to bursts. When activated, the gimmick is pushing the layer in the locks direction, so hard hits will make the locks progression easier.
However, when used in stamina or defense combination, the “bound attack” gimmick proves to be useful, since it tends to absorb shocks and repel the opponent in the process. Furthermore, compared to Valkyrie 1, Dragon features a stronger spring mechanism, making the “Bound attacks” rebound more effective.
Final Thoughts
Dragon is a great right-spin DB core for stamina and defense combinations, but Kerbeus and Perseus are usually the preferred options for top tier combos. Nonetheless, Dragon is a decent alternative if the other options are not available.
Therefore, Dragon is a great addition in any player’s collection.
