Description of Wedge
First released in the CX-03 Perseus Dark B6-80W Booster as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on March 29th, 2025, Wedge (or W) is a Defense type Bit.
Wedge is a very unique Defense type Bit, featuring a low angle conical tip. The design of the tip results in high stamina potential, and its low angle conical shape also provides decent stability. When launched hard, “W” has a semi-mobile behavior, and may even create sudden accelerations when tilting. This Bit will adopt a stationary behavior in the second part of the Battle.
Furthermore, similarly to Rush, Wedge has a reduced number of gears, featuring ten gears instead of the usual twelve. This has two consequences : Xtreme Dash attacks are slower, and the resulting stamina loss is mitigated. Therefore, out of all the available Defense type Bits, Wedge the highest stamina potential. It can easily outperform Bits such as Needle and High Needle, making it one the best Defense type Bits available.
However, Wedge pointy tip will also result in decreased knock-out resistance, and it will be easier to destabilize than most of Stamina type Bits, such as Ball. Moreover, combinations using “W” will tilt over earlier than combos using “B”.
Final Thoughts
Thanks to its reduced number of gears, similarly to Rush, as well as its tip design, Wedge is one of the best Defense type Bits at the time of writing. Its stability and mitigated stamina losses are providing high stamina potential, making it a quite effective Defense type option.
Therefore, while Wedge may not have enough knock-out resistance to be compared with Bits such as Ball and Orb, it is a great addition for players looking for decent defense type options in their Beyblade X collection.

I like how you state it is a decent defense bit, while it has worse K.O. resistance and stability (stamina sustain) than ball or orb. What makes it a good defense bit then ? Have you ever wondered about, what is the point of conical bits at all ? This community is so confused about defense in general. Let me tell you, conical bits have somewhat better K.O. resistance, than ball-like bits, because a tiny sharp contact point, has better grip, than a tiny rounded down contact point, when the bey is moving (not in terms of spinning). That’s the only point of using them. Their stability (~stamina) is worse obviously. There is such thing as flat stamina, but as soon as they make contact, it is negligible.
We compare Wedge to other defense type options, not stamina type options. Ball and Orb are both Stamina type Bits in Beyblade X. I would recommend you to make some research about how friction works, it’s actually the opposite of how you think it works. Less friction means more stamina, at the cost of poor knock-out resistance.
Additionally, the reasons why defense type Bits struggle are their poor KO resistance and poor stability. Stamina type Bits such as Ball, Orb, Free Ball, Wall Ball, provide both KO resistance and stability.
Furthermore, we don’t recommend Wedge as a “competitive” option, we’re just pointing out the fact that having 10 gears instead of twelve provides better KO/Self KO resistance as well as decent stamina. Please do some research to have a better understanding of the game, and pay attention to the words used before posting comments with such a patronizing tone.
I think the one thing I’ve noticed is bits like this tend to grab the middle line of the stadium more especially when angled. Just slide your bey with your hand over the line using different bits and you’ll feel wedge/needle have a stronger grab. I think when launched at an angle this improves knock out resistance early game by grabbing the middle line when pushed. This grab uprights the beys angle instead of allowing the bey to slide around the arena. Once you’re up right and you’ve lost some stamina however it becomes a bit of a liability.
Just comparing needle and wedge myself wedge grabs this middle line more, theoretically increasing the benefits of the early game grab effect while exacerbating the late game issues.
Thank you for your feedback, you may be absolutely right ! In any case, we’ve compared Wedge with Needle and High Needle in dozens of combos, Battles and match-ups, and just like Rush, Wedge has better stamina overall thanks to its lower number of gears. Xtreme Dash attacks have a dramatic impact on stamina losses, and the 10 gears on Wedge are great to mitigate this side effect. This, combined with the mitigated self knock-outs risk, makes Wedge perform better than Needle in most, if not all match-ups.
