Description of Hexa
First released in the UX-02 Starter Hells Hammer 3-70H as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on March 30th, 2024, Hexa (or H) is a Balance type Bit.
Hexa has a unique tip, featuring an hexagonal shape. Furthermore, instead of being flat, 6 plastic lines are covering the hexagonal part, decreasing friction and scraping risk. These lines meet in the center, creating a thin tip.
This design results in increased stamina, and the hexagonal shape will provide stability to the combination, allowing it to upright itself with minor stamina losses in the process. However, when a H combination loses velocity, it won’t be able to upright itself anymore, losing stamina quickly and suddenly.
The thin tip of Hexa creates a stationary behavior, similar to Defense type Bits such as Needle. For this reason, H is often considered by players as an alternative Defense type option. While its conservative behavior is reminiscent of Defense type Bits, Hexa provides more stability, which translates to more stamina in Battle, as well as an increased Burst Resistance.
Furthermore, this Bit has 16 gears instead of the usual 12, similarly to Accel. When launched hard, the increased number of gears will make it harder to create smooth Xtreme Dash Attacks. However, when this Bit rides the X-Line, the resulting Xtreme-Dash will be faster, at the cost of increased stamina losses and self knock-out risk.
Due to its unique properties, Hexa tends to come in and out of the meta game, depending on the the threat created by attack type combinations. Whenever top tier Attack type combos create a high Burst risk, competitive players usually replace Ball with Hexa, in an attempt to increase Burst Resistance without losing too much stamina.
For example, the combo Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa was used in the official Beyblade X World Championships, mainly due to the popularity of the Blade Shark Scale.
When compared to Ball however, it is worth noting that Hexa has less stamina and Knock-out resistance.
Final Thoughts
Out of all the Balance type Bits, Hexa is the most conservative both in terms of behavior and stamina. While it is not a go to option such as Ball in the meta game, it is used to replace Ball when more Burst Resistance is required.
Therefore, Hexa can be considered as a must have for competitive players.
