Description of Golem Rock 1-60UN

Released as a Booster as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on January 25th, 2025, UX-13 Golem Rock 1-60UN is a right-spin Defense type combination.

As all Unique Line models, this Beyblade features resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This further increases Outward Weight Distribution, a characteristic that significantly improves stamina and attack potential. 

Unique Line models also have a gimmick : Golem Rock is designed to create counter-attacks from a low posture thanks to Under Needle low height, repelling and destabilizing the opposing Beyblade due to the design of the Blade, Golem Rock. The counter-attack potential is further enhanced by the Ratchet 1-60.

The stock combination can have decent results against attack type combos. Despite its small size and lack of weight, the Blade’s improved OWD creates enough stamina and attack potential to repel and out-spin many attack type Beyblades. Moreover, while 1-60 usually creates poor Burst resistance in Defense/Stamina type combinations, the very low height of Under Needle mitigates Burst Risk.

However, the sharp tip of Under Needle creates high poor Knock-Out resistance. Furthermore, it makes this stock combination easier to destabilize.

As a result, Golem Rock is a surprisingly good and enjoyable stock combination. This Beyblade can be used as intended against Attack type stock combinations, although it will struggle against stamina combos using top tier Blades.

How to Improve Golem Rock

Golem Rock lacks weight to be used in a competitive environment, although it can be used in various combinations with decent results. Players can improve Burst Resistance if they feel the need to do so, by replacing 1-60 with 9-60. Moreover, Ratchets such as 6-60 and 5-60 can create decent synergy with the Blade.

The choice of the Bit is really a matter of taste, since Golem Rock can be surprisingly versatile. Players can improve stamina by using Bits such as Ball and Free Ball, and even use this Blade in Attack oriented combinations, with Low Rush for example. If players want to keep a defense type combination, then Wedge is definitely worth trying.

In Beyblade X, an interesting approach is to use Defense type Blades in “Anti-Attack” combinations. Such combos require mobility to chase and counter Attack type Beyblades, and also stability and Knock-out resistance. Balance type Bits such as Kick, Hexa, Taper, and Unite are examples of options which can be used to create “Anti-Attack” combinations.

Overall, the stock combination is decent, and it comes with 1-60, heavily used in official tournaments.

Furthermore, if Takara Tomy keeps making taller combinations more interesting in the future, then lower combinations will also become more viable. For example, Under Needle can already be used to lower Clock Mirage combinations, thus increasing Burst resistance.

Therefore, this Beyblade may not necessarily be considered as a must have, especially for players who already own a copy of 1-60. However, it is a strong addition in any Beyblade X collection.
