Description of Tricera Press M-85BS

Released as a Booster as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on June 28th, 2025, Tricera Press M-85BS is a right-spin Defense type combination.

Tricera Press has a gimmick : the Blade Tricera Press features thicker, larger launcher hooks, making them heavier as a result. This increases Inward Weight Distribution, which significantly improves defense potential, by increasing Knock-Out resistance. Moreover, this Beyblade introduced the first Ratchet featuring a metal ring, M-85, which further increases Inward (or Central) Weight Distribution.

Unfortunately, this Stock Combination, as many other Defense type stock combos, can be frustrating and difficult to use. Equipped with a very tall Ratchet, M-85, and a tall Defense type Bit, Bound Spike, Tricera Press M-85BS has an overall poor Burst Resistance.

Furthermore, despite its heavier hooks, the Blade’s recoil can feel random and erratic, resulting in sudden knock-outs.

However, while the stock combination can be difficult to enjoy, Tricera Press is an interesting Defense type Blade, albeit heavily outclassed for competitive use.

How to Improve Tricera Press

Since Bound Spike makes the combination taller in its default position, the priority for players willing to keep this Beyblade’s behavior is to replace M-85 with a safer option, such as 9-60.

However, players willing to keep M-85 can try to use low Bits to make the combination lower, in order to improve Burst Resistance. At the time of writing, Under Needle and Under Flat are the most effective options, almost lowering the combination to the standard height (the combo will be 0,5 mm taller than standard height combos).

For a predictable, traditionnal Defense type behavior, at the time of writing Wedge is probably the safest option. It was used during the Beyblade X World Championship in Knight Mail combinations. The popular Hexa will also provide a Defense/Stamina type behavior with an increased Burst Resistance.

For a counter-attack oriented combination, Kick and 7-60 are both great options.

Ratchets such as 1-60 and 3-60 may also be interesting in Attack oriented combinations, combined with Bits such as Rush, its low variant Low Rush and Level.

Overall, this stock combination has poor synergy : it is one of the tallest combinations released in Beyblade X, and it comes with a Defense type Bit that cannot mitigate Burst risk. Moreover, Bound Spike makes the combination even taller due to its gimmick.

However, Tricera Press is a decent Defense Type Blade, albeit heavily outclassed by top tier options currently used in the meta game.

Therefore, this Beyblade is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
