Description of Cobalt Dragoon 2-60C

Released as a Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on July 13th, 2024, Cobalt Dragoon 2-60C is a left-spin Attack type combination. This Starter comes with a left-spin String Launcher.

When used with a Winder Launcher, this stock combination has decent attack potential, being agressive and yet fairly easy to control thanks to the Cyclone Bit. However, when used with a String Launcher, Cobalt Dragoon may lack the required mobility to inflict meaningful strikes to the opposing Beys. Moreover, Spin-Equalization further reduces recoil, resulting in less raw attack potential.

Furthermore, Cobalt Dragoon has poor Burst resistance because of its Ratchet, 2-60. At the time of writing, this Ratchet has the highest Burst risk due to the shape and size of its protrusions.

However, this Starter has great value nonetheless, thanks to the Blade Cobalt Dragoon, the first and only left-spin option available.

Please note that on release, the blue String Launchers coming with this Starter had breakage issues, just like the original String Launchers available on Beyblade X official release in Japan.

How to Improve Cobalt Dragoon

The most popular combination is Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate, a spin-equalizing combo able to counter every stamina type combination used in the meta game, such as Wizard Rod 9-60 Ball or Silver Wolf 3-60 Free Ball/Orb.

This specific combo is best used with a String Launcher, in order to keep this combination close to the opposing Bey, allowing to spin-equalize and win thanks to the high LAD of Elevate. If used with a Winder Launcher, the resulting recoil will create unwanted space between the Beyblades. Moreover, Elevate doesn’t feature a widened shaft, resulting in a fairly high Burst risk when launched hard.

Elevate was released with Whale Wave in the Takara Tomy toy line, Tidal Wave in the Hasbro toy line.

If you want to use Cobalt Dragoon in a more agressive combination while maintaining a bit of spin-equalizing potential, we would like to recommend Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Level. The unbalanced left-spin Blade can benefit from the stability provided by the large tip of Level. Furthermore, Level has enough mobility to make Cobalt Dragoon efficient as a true attack type Blade. Obviously, this combination is far more risky, thus less reliable than 5-60 Elevate.

Final Thoughts

This Starter is definitely a must have, due to how effective the Cobalt Dragoon Blade can be when paired with Elevate. Furthermore, players willing to use the competitive 5-60 Elevate combo will probably prefer to use the String Launcher included in this Starter. As stated above, Winder Launchers create unnecessary recoil and a Burst risk that players will want to avoid at all costs.
