Description of Scorpio Spear
First released with the UX-14 Scorpio Spear 0-70 Zap Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on April 26th, 2025, Scorpio Spear is a right-spin Balance type Blade.
Unique Line Blades feature resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This is meant to increase Outward Weight Distribution, a trait that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.
Unique Line Beyblades also have a gimmick, usually based on all components synergy. With Spear, the gimmick is all about mode-change, typical of balance type Beyblades. With Scorpio Spear, the Blade features an additional sub-layer, able to move and rotate. This gimmick is activated when the Bit itself rotates. In its starting position, the sub layer fills the gaps between the Blade’s contact points, adding 3 additional plastic contact points ; this is the “Defense Mode”. Therefore, Scorpio Spear has a six-sided shape when in defense mode. Please note that Scorpio Spear can only be launched when the sub-layer is in “Defense mode”.
As a result, when a Scorpio Spear combination reaches the X-Line, the Xtreme Dash attack will make the Bit rotate. This will activate the gimmick, switching to the sub-layer to “Attack mode” : the additional plastic blades will move below the main contact points, giving Scorpio Spear a three-sided shape. Additionally, the sub-layer can be pushed when struck hard enough by opposing Beys.
Performances
At the time of writing, This Blade is the heaviest available in Beyblade X, at an average weight of approximately 39.5 grams to 40 grams depending on the copy. Scorpio Spear has standard, sturdy contact points, making it a recoil-laden Blade.
When used in Attack/Balance type combinations, the recoil-laden nature of this Blade can leave a feeling of randomness, with many accidental knock-outs as well as self knock-outs.
However, agressive Scorpio Spear combinations can knock-out some of the best competitive combos. Furthermore, when used in Stamina type combinations, this Blade can be used against top-tier Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf combinations with a high degree of success.
Therefore, after hours of testing sessions, our opinion is that that this Blade has a strong chance to become a reliable and popular choice in official Beyblade X tournaments. Our preferred Ratchets were 9-60 and 3-60, and our favorite Bits were Free Ball, Kick and Level.
Final Thoughts
Scorpio Spear could have an impact on the meta-game similar to Silver Wolf, displaying impressive stamina and attack power, even against top-tier competitive combinations. As such, Scorpio Spear is probably one of the best Beyblade X Blades.
