Description of Pegasus Blast ATr
Released as a Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on July 19th, 2025, Pegasus Blast ATr is a right-spin Attack type combination. This Starter comes with a Winder Launcher.
As all models from the Custom Line, it features customisable Blades, being made of three interchangeable parts : the Lock Chip, the Main Blade and the Assist Blade. As such, this Beyblade introduced four components : the Pegasus Lock Chip, Blast Main Blade, Assault Assist Blade and and Turbo Bit.
This stock combination is reminiscent of the iconic Beyblade from the Metal Fight Beyblade Generation, Big Bang Pegasus and its Performance Tip, Final Drive (abbreviated F:D). While Blast has a similar three-sided shape, Turbo and its integrated Ratchet also has a gimmick similar to F:D, allowing the combination to accelerate later in the Battle.
This Bit will make the stock combo difficult to control, resulting in a fast, sudden Xtreme Dash attack. This attack, most part of the time, will drain Pegasus Blast stamina, making the stock combo unforgiving. This Beyblade will rely on the first collisions early in Battle to knock-out the opposing Beyblade, making it very risky.
However, this Beyblade also introduced the heaviest Main Blade at the time of writing, Blast. This new component, in and of its self, justifies the purchase of this Starter. While the Custom Line has been heavily criticized for its lack of performances, this heavy Blade has the potential to redefine the metagame, and maybe change some of Beyblade X key gameplay mechanics.
Furthermore, the heavy weight of Blast makes recoil feel more predictable.
How to Improve Pegasus Blast ATr
Unfortunately, players willing to improve the performances of this Beyblade will have to replace Turbo. Replacing this Bit will make the combination more consistent and reliable.
Players willing to keep an Attack type identity can use 9-60 or 3-60 Ratchets to mitigate Burst risk, and Rush or Low Rush. However, the tall height of CX combos makes Level and Kick very interesting options, providing stability to the combination while retaining an agressive behavior. Slash can be experimented with, this Assist Blades adds protruding secondary contact points to the Blade.
Now, players willing to turn Blast in a Wizard Rod slayer can use the following combination :
Pegasus (or any other Lock Chip) Blast Wheel 9-60/3-60 Wall Ball. In our test Battles, this combination completely dominated every top-tier Stamina type combination, using Blades such as Wizard Rod, Silver Wolf and Scorpio Spear. Combined with Wheel and Wall Ball, Blast can also beat the popular Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate, albeit not with consistency.
This combination also shows that finally, taller combinations might play a role in the metagame, since Pegasus Blast Wheel 9-60/3-60 Wall Ball can be countered with taller combinations, such as Silver Wolf 3-80 Free Ball, or Wizard Rod 9-80 Ball.
However, the tall height of this suggested combination makes it weaker against top-tier Attack type combos.
Final Thoughts
Featuring an unpredictable Bit and a decent Assist Blade, in our opinion Pegasus Blast is still a must have due to the very interesting performances and gameplay of the Main Blade Blast. Thanks to its heavy weight and downward slanting contact points, it is a perfect option for the taller Custom Line combinations.
