Description of Rhino Reaper C4-55D
Released with the CX-05 Random Booster Vol. 6 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on March 29th, 2025, Rhino Reaper C4-55D is a right-spin Defense type combination. It is the second Prize of this Random Booster.
As all models from the Custom Line, It features customisable Blades, being made of three interchangeable parts : the Lock Chip, the Main Blade and the Assist Blade. As such, this Beyblade not only features the new Reaper Main Blade, it also introduces the Assist Blade Charge and Rhino Lock Chip.
This stock combination tries to make use of Reaper’s repeated Smash Attacks, this time from a defensive stance, because of Dot, a defense type Bit with increased friction levels. According to the original Japanese definition, Smash Attacks are pushing the opposing Bey down, creating a high destabilization risk. Since the Main Blade Reaper has potential for consecutive hits, using it in a stationary combination can make sense, in theory. Reaper combined with Dot may destabilize the opposing Beyblade progressively, although Dot also makes the combination easier to knock-out.
Furthermore, this Bit also has a negative impact on stamina, making Rhino Reaper easy to out-spin for combinations having average to good stability.
Dot behavior being more agressive than most of the available Defense type Bits, Rhino Reaper usually performs best as a counter-attacking combo. It is also able to destabilize many Defense type combinations, due to their lack of stability.
As with all Custom Line Beyblades, the addition of secondary contact points on the Assist Blade (entirely made of plastic) ca make recoil feel quite unpredictable, sometimes resulting in a feeling of randomness.
How to Improve Rhino Reaper C4-55D
First of all, players can replace Dot with Bits such as Hexa or Wedge. These options will preserve the stationary behavior of the combination, and improve stamina as well as stability.
While 4-55 may be interesting due to its lower height, its lack of weight and large protrusions can result in decreased stamina and Burst resistance. Therefore, as per usual 9-60 remains a great option, providing high Burst resistance, but players may consider 1-60 for more attack if a Balance/Attack type Bit is used. 7-60 can also be a great option, adding weight and stability, while 3-60 and 5-60 are quite safe and versatile.
Reaper having thin contact points and an overall square shaped design, it tends to perform best in anti-attack and anti-defense combinations, lacking the required stamina and raw attack potential to out spin, knock out or destabilize Stamina combinations.
Therefore, using Bits with decent mobility and stamina may be a good strategy. Ball is a safe option, featuring high stamina potential, Point, Kick, Unite and Taper are more agressive, these are great Bits for Anti Attack combinations. Level, Rush or Low Rush can also be interesting, Level providing high stability to any combination.
At the time of writing, there are not many Assist Blades to choose from : the four sided Assist Blade Turn has a good synergy with Reaper. Assist Blades such as Slash can add attack potential, while Round may increase Defense.
Final Thoughts
Rhino Reaper is an average stock combination, mainly due to the Ratchet and Bit options used, but it features additional components which could prove to be interesting for Custom Line Beyblades collectors.
Rhino adds a Lock Chip option, albeit a purely cosmetic one. Both Reaper and Charge add significant customization options to the CX Blades, thus making Rhino Reaper really interesting for Custom Line collectors only.
