Wind Blade

Description of the Wind Blade

Released with the B-202 Random Booster Vol.30 as part of the Burst Ultimate system on September 10th, 2022, Wind is a right-spin BU Blade.

This Blade features a wide, circular shape and a smooth, thick perimeter. It is the widest Blade available in the Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate systems. Three gaps are separating the center of the Blade from the edge, which creates OWD (Outward Weight Distribution), increasing the Blade stamina potential.

Wind also features a gimmick ; it has “propeller blades”, meant to “manipulate the air”. The Blade can switch between two modes, depending on the position of the “propeller blades” : the Upper Force Mode and the Down Force Mode.

The Wind Blade Gimmick

In Upper Force Mode, there is an indicator on the right-side of the Blade’s gaps. In theory, this design is meant to make the air flow downwards through the gaps. This should create “Upper Force”, lifting the combination when spinning at high speed, thus decreasing friction between the tip of the Driver and the stadium floor. This limited friction should result in increased stamina potential.

In Down Force Mode, there is an indicator located on the left side of the Blade’s gaps. In theory, this is meant to make the air flow upwards through the gaps. This should create “Down Force”, pushing the Beyblade downwards when spinning at high speed, thus increasing friction between the tip of the Driver and the stadium floor. This increased friction should result in increased speed, and an improved defense potential.

Performances

In reality, this gimmick has no significant impact on how the combination performs. Wind has an excellent stamina potential, and its smooth perimeter allows it to excel in both same-spin and opposite-spin battles. Furthermore, the perfectly round and smooth shape of the Blade create LAD potential.

However, the Wind Blade can struggle against top-tier attack type combinations. Its wide shape can increase scraping risk when struck hard enough, and it can suffer huge stamina loss when sent against the stadium walls. In such battles, the large size of the Blade can also make it more difficult for the combination to re-stabilize itself.

Final Thoughts

The high stamina potential of this Blade makes it one of the best right-spin stamina Blades in the Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate systems, alongside Dynamite + F Gear.

Therefore, Wind is a must have in any Beyblade Burst collection.
