COMPONENT : CORE
SPIN DIRECTION : RIGHT SPIN
WEIGHT : Approx. 10,8 g
RELEASE DATE : July 16th, 2022

Xcalibur is a right-spin DB core, first released with the Xiphoid Xcalibur Xanthus Sword’-1 Starter as part of the Burst Ultimate system on July 16th, 2022.

This DB Core features a small metal sword which can extend outwards. This metal sword adds weight to the core, making it one of the heaviest DB Cores of the Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate systems. In fact, Perseus is the only DB Core that is heavier than Xcalibur.

After the first click, the metal sword is unsheathed from the DB Core, but the Forge Disc tabs will block its path. After the second click, the Forge Disc will no longer block the sword, allowing it to fully extend outwards. This is meant to focus the weight distribution at one single point, creating the “One Hit Mode”. This gimmick is designed to work with the Xiphoid Blade, since the extended sword will line up with this Blade’s main contact point.

The heavy weight of this DB Core increases K.O. and burst attack potential, making it a great choice in attack type combinations, especially when combined with the Xiphoid Blade. However, the unbalanced weight distribution prevents the added weight from increasing stamina potential.

Furthermore, Xcalibur is compatible with the “BU Lock” gimmick. Both Xanthus and Moon Forge Discs feature the “BU Lock” system, raised protrusions designed to interact with specific “BU Lock” compatible DB Cores. This gimmick makes it more difficult for the Disc to progress, increasing burst resistance.

Final Thoughts

Xcalibur is not necessarily a must have for competitive players, but its unique design can be effective in attack combinations using the Xiphoid Blade.

Therefore, Xcalibur is a great addition in any player’s collection.
