Description of the Xiphoid Blade
Xiphoid is a right-spin attack type Blade released with the B-200 Xiphoid Xcalibur Xanthus Sword’-1 Starter as part of the Burst Ultimate system on July 16th, 2022.
Xiphoid features a diamond shape with four contact points, a design reminiscent of Sieg Excalibur. One of the contact points has the shape of a sword tip protruding from the Blade, thus acting as the main contact point.
This main contact point is meant to create synergy with the Xanthus Forge Disc and the Xcalibur DB Core. This DB core features a metal sword gimmick, able to extend and line up with Xiphoid main contact point. This is called the “Ichigeki Mōdo“, which can be translated by “One Hit Mode”. This gimmick is intended to create a weight distribution focused at the main contact point of the Blade, increasing attack potential.
In reality, the Blade feels unbalanced and more difficult to control than other attack oriented Blades from the Dynamite Battle and Burst Ultimate systems. However, the imbalanced weight distribution does indeed create high attack power, making this Blade capable of knocking-out combinations using top tier Blades such as Vanish.
Additionally, It is worth noting that any combination using this Blade will need to be launched hard to get results, making Xiphoid a risky and rewarding option. Final Thoughts
This Blade unbalanced weight distribution may make it difficult to use for some players, but it features very high attack potential. It proves to be a demanding Blade, requiring players to combine control and high power during launches.
Therefore, Xcalibur is not necessarily a must have, but it can be a strong and unique addition in any player’s collection.
