Description of Shinobi Shadow 1-80MN

Released with UX-05 Random Booster Shinobi Shadow Select as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on May 18th, 2024, Shinobi Shadow 1-80MN is a right-spin Defense type combination.

As all Unique Line models, this Beyblade features resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This further increases Outward Weight Distribution, a characteristic that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.

Unique Line models also have a gimmick : Shinobi Shadow 1-80MN is designed to parry opposing Beyblade attacks, thanks to the smooth perimeter of the Blade Shinobi Shadow.

In reality, this stock combination has various issues, making it difficult to enjoy. First of all, the Blade is too light. Weighing approximately 28 grams, with many Blades being 6 to 11 grams heavier, Shinobi Shadow lacks defense, stamina and attack potential.

Furthermore, the use of a tall Ratchet like 1-80 combined with a Defense type Bit such as Metal Needle results in a severe Burst risk. Moreover, the sharp metal tip of this Bit can damage Xtreme Stadiums.

Therefore, players will have to replace this Bit with any available option to avoid damage on the Stadium (Metal Needle can dent the Stadium floor when landing).

How to Improve Shinobi Shadow

As mentioned above, the Blade Shinobi Shadow lacks weight, making it difficult to use and heavily outclassed in any combination type. However, popular Bits such as Ball can improve overall performances, adding stability, defense and stamina potential to the combo.

Moreover, in a non-competitive environment, players sometimes like to use lighter Blades in fast Attack type combinations, using Bits such as Gear Flat or Under Flat and Low Flat. While these combos are risky, they can prove to be enjoyable due to their high movement speed. Unfortunately, the light weight of Shinobi Shadow creates a high knock-out risk when used in Defense/Stamina type combinations.

It is also worth noting that 3-60 protrusions can line up perfectly with Shinobi Shadow main contact points.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Shinobi Shadow 1-80MN does not provide any top-tier component. While “1” Ratchets are very popular in official Beyblade X tournaments, the “80” height is still avoided at the time of writing.

Therefore, this Beyblade can be recommended to collectors only.
