Description of the Hyperion DB Core
First released with the B-203 Ultimate Fusion DX Set as part of the Burst Ultimate system on October 8th, 2022, Hyperion is a right-spin DB Core featuring four strong locks.
This DB Core design is very reminiscent of its predecessors in the Hyperion line, from the Superking Layer system. Its four locks are providing average burst resistance, and it has a high stamina potential.
While it is outclassed by DB Cores such as Perseus because of its heavy weight, and Kerbeus because of its very high burst resistance, it remains a strong option for players in need of a right-spin core to fill a competitive Deck. Its stamina potential is similar to Dragon, one of the best DB Cores in right-spin stamina combinations.
Furthermore, this DB Core is compatible with the “BU Lock” gimmick. Both Xanthus and Moon Forge Discs feature the “BU Lock” system, raised protrusions designed to interact with specific “BU Lock” compatible DB Cores. This gimmick makes it more difficult for the Disc to progress, increasing burst resistance.
Due to its good burst resistance and high stamina potential, Hyperion can be considered as a must-have for competitive players, and an excellent choice for collectors.
