Description of Impact Drake 9-60LR

Released as a Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on December 28th, 2024, Impact Drake 9-60 Low Rush is a right-spin Attack type combination. This Starter comes with a recolored String Launcher.

As all Unique Line models, this Beyblade features resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This further increases Outward Weight Distribution, a characteristic that significantly improves stamina and attack potential. 

Unique Line models also have a gimmick : Impact Drake theme is based on low posture rubber attacks, thanks to the design of the Impact Drake Blade and the lower height of Low Rush. The Blade has four rubber contact points, and Low Rush sits 1 mm below the standard height.

As a result, this stock combination has great Burst attack potential, its lower height allowing it to strike opposing Beyblades from below. The heavy weight and agressive shape of the Blade are also key factors when it comes to Impact Drake Burst attacks.

This Beyblade also has high knock-out potential : its high recoil can repel some of Beyblade X best Blades, such as Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf.

What really makes this combination stand out is how it combines high attack power and ease of use, thanks to the docile Low Rush Bit.

Furthermore, this Beyblade has impressive Burst resistance : its lower height, the widened shaft of Low Rush and the shape of 9-60 all contribute to improve this combination Burst resistance.

The only weakness of Impact Drake is its lack of stamina. Rubber is great in opposite spin match-ups, but it is a handicap in same-spin Battles, as rubber slows the Beyblade spin velocity dramatically on each and every strike.

How to Improve Impact Drake

Honestly, there is no real need to improve Impact Drake, since the stock combination has great synergy and its lack of stamina cannot be compensated. Using Impact Drake in stamina and defense type combinations can be ill advised, since rubber will make this combination lose a vast majority of stamina match-ups.

Therefore, in same spin match-ups, Impact Drake is mainly designed to be used in Attack type and/or Balance type combinations, even though any stamina provided by Balance type Bits may be useless, due to the presence of rubber.

Players willing to experiment may want to use this Blade in Attack type combinations only, looking to Burst or Knock the opposing Beyblade out as soon as possible. Ratchets such as 3-60, 5-60 or 1-60 are nice options, and both Rush and Level can be used instead of Low Rush with decent results.

This Starter is a must have for players who like attack type Beyblades, although Impact Drake all or nothing approach divides players opinions.

Competitive players may also be interested by this Beyblade in order to get Low Rush and 9-60, both being great components that can used in a competitive environment.
